looking on the bright side
At least my hot water tank gave up and spewed everywhere last night and NOT when I'm gone for 10 days. Everything would have been ruined instead of just today. SOrry for ruining your day Landlord but... And it was ruined. I didn't have enough time to kill the power and cool that tank. They tried to drain it. It was SO filled with calcium deposits it wasn't possible. It blocked off the hose and no one told me they had the door open. It was hours before I knew if Kanda was out or hiding really well (the latter). So they muscle the tank out, FULL, and burn themselves and nearly break my door but finally the fucking thing is lying in the yard and it STILL can't drain.
So people with hot water tanks you own, it pays to do as they say, hook up a hose and flush that thing from time to time. LL's helper is supposed to come clean the carpet but doesn't. LL tells me to do what I need to do because it's an hour of travel time alone to even got get a damn tank at Lowes and get back again. Now someone is supposed to come in the afternoon to change out that old thermostat too.
So I go put in my grades and do what I need to there. Get home just as he gets back with the tank. The thermostat guy came while I was gone. Naturally. So the tank is bigger than the old one (so maybe I can actually get thru a shower without it going cold now). It takes doing to get it in there. Meanwhile he has none of the right tools. I had to give him my screwdrivers, my pliers and strippers and even my damn reading glasses so he can put the thermostat on.
He needed tiny screwdrivers for that. I had those. The only thing I didn't have was a drill. Must buy drill. He even raided my tool box for a damn hammer (what was he planning on using to do this? the force?) I dropped my gargoyle on my foot in finding those tiny screwdrivers.

It's solid terra cotta and you can't see it's wings. I'm not sure if the toe is broken but it IS cut and that thing had been in grandma's basement for nearly two decades so yeah I better keep an eye on the toe.
But it's all done. I have a bigger brand new tank, a wet floor and a new thermostat and a boo boo toe.
Finally got around to sharing the links from the Irish Fest a week later. I got the Oak Ogham necklace Soul Harbor Jewelry Click on it to see it's meaning (It's my Celtic birth sign). If you look at the pendants and see the Celtic sun, I had a dream about that back in the early 2000s but all the rays were Celtic knotwork. I dreamed a friend had taken me to her tattoo artist and I got that as a tattoo.
lovely animated art
And I listened to new releases on SPotify today and came across a 3 disc set I'm still working through called Orbit: Music for Solo Cello and I love it. I also found a band called Kaleo. My character of that name is amused. I think they're from Iceland, kinda bluesy. I need to listen to more.

I thought her stuff was pretty nice

The necklace is pretty!! That person does beautiful work!
I also LOVE the art work! It's animated just enough to make you wish you could walk into her "magical" worlds of ordinary stuff! :D

yes I thought her art was great
The art really does beckon you in

Me too!
It really does! :D

hahaha that's cool. I don't go for mani-pedis (technically I shouldn't be diabetic)
no subject
*grins* It was! It was also the only time I ever had a pedi. XD There used to be this beauty school, I'd go to to get my eyebrows waxed & the odd mani, but they're gone too. *sighs*

aw too bad. We actually have them around. I just don't like being touched on unless I need something super special done.

Okay. I always paint my toes myself, but the polish I bought was not a good brand & they were horribly chipped. I had painted them the day before I left too. So it was nice having them redone (with a polish that lasted). :D
no subject
yeah cheap polish isn't worth it. Then again I have all the best polishes and they still chip. I'm a nightmare
no subject
The sad thing is the expensive stuff chips too. So it's not just you.

A handyman without tools is kind of disconcerting, NGL.
Is that gargoyle from the same guy our Pregant Earth Mothers is from? I was thinking the other day I ought to move my Woman in the Moon around but I'm afraid if I take her down, I'll drop her and shatter her.
no subject
yeah no kidding re: handyman
yes that gargoyle is. I know that feeling I have SO much of the art hanging up and one that's in the closet probably getting broken in there.
no subject
Kanda, you're just weird.
Handymen. Weeeeee.
You should find it and make sure it's not getting broken.
no subject
Kanda is. He's also after a fly.
yeah I should. REALLY should since it's not replacable.
no subject
You definitely should then.
no subject
yeah i should
