Writerly Ways
Apr. 15th, 2012 05:51 amI admit it. I have very little going on for this Writerly Ways mostly because it’s three weeks until I’m done with the semester. I have tests to write, lectures to finish, stacks of crap to grade and a looming deadline on a story that I have NO idea how to finish the final battle.
So let me just say a couple things and share some helpful links and move along.
Check out my friend, Tom’s, ebook Live. It IS German-language but I know I have a few Germans on the list and you might enjoy it.
Secondly I’m going to be doing that 100 things challenge in my pro erotica LJ at
jana_denardo and it’ll be all on writing. Who knows what? Whatever thing pops into my mind. It sounds like a great platform building challenge for me. Feel free to friend that journal if you’d like to follow it.
time management tips This is one person’s way of balancing writing while you still have a day job. It looks like a good way to keep on track. I think
silvrethorn is doing something similar though maybe sans worksheet.
While I’m not a huge fan of Twitter, it has hooked me into a vast network of authors and I come across a lot of helpful articles. Here are two from there.
How to fuel conflict This one is about creating conflict and misunderstandings in a plot. I do admit I’m not fond of plot twists that hinge on people either not telling people something they should have (looking at you Joss Whedon and all your verses). This might be a way of doing it more believably.
Post writing depression Honestly, I haven’t been hit too hard by this (until I look at sales numbers or reviews) but judging by my authors’ list, it is common.
Yearly count –
28503 / 75000 words. 38% done!
I don’t currently have an accurate count on Kept Tears because the files are all over the place and I’ve done no work on anything else. Bad CoM
