There was good and bad news
Sep. 24th, 2020 09:17 pmGood news, I'm not allergic to cats. Bad news, I'm very allergic to mold, dust and roaches which goes a long way to why living in Florida had been so miserable for me. Stupid Palmetto bugs.
The worse news, my asthma is MUCH worse than I knew it to be. My lungs are only working at 70%. That combined with my anemia goes a long way to explaining why I'm so tired. I have to go back on daily meds for the asthma.
In fact my breathing was SO bad he couldn't do the scratch test at first. I had to have a breathing treatment and if I didn't improve I couldn't have the test. Obviously I did improve since I had the test but my lung function is extremely poor. (and people wonder why I worry about getting covid)
We're not sure why fuzzy blankets or Kanda kept giving me asthma/allergy attacks but it's likely they (and he) were dusty because I am MIGHTILY allergic to dust mites. I was told I need to keep the apt at 40% humidity. It was suggested I consider desert life (guess I'm retiring to Vegas)
Also my eustachian tube (the passageway between throat and ear, the thing that 'pops') is so scarred closed the pain in my ear isn't an infection, it's actually a vacuum pulling the ear drum onto the bones. Might be why I have issues hearing in that ear. Hopefully some of the meds will open that passageway.
Also the student doctor shadowing today was a delightful geek with a Star Wars rebellion pin on his suit lapel and a Jack Skellington lanyard clip. If only he were 25 years older...
I had even MORE Blackboard woes today. I want to set that program on fire.
The Craig Johnson/Lou Diamond Phillips talk was fun. Craig writes the Longmire books. I'll probably buy the book from that bookstore (independent) to support and thank them for putting this on. Craig was an interesting dude. His next book is going to shine a light on all the missing Indigenous woman. That made me happy. I was impressed that they also held off bringing Lou on for a half hour (because obviously to the fans he eclipsed Craig) and let Craig have his time. I was amused because they made the point that on Young Guns because Lou is nearly 6'2" and the rest of the actors were short, they always had him in a hole or on the shortest horse. Last week's zoom, Lou was still relatively clean shaven, today he has the goatee (Mom when I told her, 'with that head of hair, he probably grew it overnight, almost yes Mom) anyhow, Lou retweeted it with commentary here. (He's an amusing fellow)
I had my nano project in mind. Starting yesterday a story I started in 2017? 2018? decided it was time to start on that. You have characters and a vague plot. Come bug me when that plot forms up. It's the steampunk/supernatural critter hunter story.
