Write Every Day 23

Today was filled with the apple festival but that did not help with the writing. However my spook_me story woke me at 4AM to tell me all about it (thanks brain). I did get about 400 words via editing both Digging Up Bones and my wipbigbang which is due on the weekend. I also managed 270 words on the spook me story which my 4 AM brain insists is titled You Are Not a Gothic Heroine.

Of Fannish Things

This week sucked and I'm glad it's dead.

So fannish stuff, a rumor has been going around on Twitter that FFN might be closing down. Evil_little_dog tried getting in and got a message about them migrating to a new server which might be the reason the rumor started. But it got me thinking A LOT of my earlier stories in the early 00's-2010 especially are on there. I had started copying stories about 3 years ago after the last FFN closing scare.

I know I don't have those stories because those were the days of discs and CDs and those corrupted so easily. I want to save it all and I figure a lot of you might too.


Also apparently there is some bullshit going around AO3 too. I don't know if it's fandom specific or general assholery about some fans moaning about I don't want to read....(usually non-con or incest and well neither do I personally BUT I'm not a jackass about it). AO3 (and I believe Pillowfort as well) have tags and filters (something FFN doesn't) FILTER the shit out. I can't believe the sheer amount of fans who don't want to filter, are complaining about having to filter. It's like why are you expecting the world to conform to your tastes. You have the tools to keep that stuff out of your eyeballs, use it.

I love fandom but damn some days I also hate it.
