In an attempt
to escape the election anxiety, I tried to clean and didn't get far. Tried to write and didn't get far. Gave up and went down to the school because I said I'd attend the wildlife seniors presentations. Spring semester is senior research presentation but on the whole our students don't get a lot of presentation experience so the wildlife biology profs decided, let them present their summer internships as practice. They asked the other profs to come to support the students.
I was the only one that did (that could be because they went to vote but I doubt it. It's par for the course). I thought they did pretty well. I did get some writing done there. I do feel bad that no one supports anything any more at that school.
Today was odd on the writing front. Got one rejection (on a story I really like, ah well) and another got short listed but I won't know for several weeks on that one.
Fannish 50, the dark side of fandom and how not to feed into it. Arcana, Helluva Boss (of which I saw a tiny bit of a leak) and now Hazbin Hotel have had content leaked. The Helluva Boss leak I caught was a leak of attempt two because so much of the Ghostfuckers episode had been leaked they had to redid it. I don't know about Arcane as I have never seen it. But someone just stole the ENTIRE second season of Hazbin and posted some of it and is selling the rest. Yesterday it was just a 'leak' with Vivziepop talking about the disrespect but this is a whole new level.
Some fans got spoiled thinking the leak was a good fan animation (I did that with the tiny piece of HelluvaBoss I saw) Others are going after the leaks and using it to boost their own YT/TikTok content. I feel confident in saying, don't do this. Don't be that fan. Don't feed into this. In the case of Hazbin, it's not due out for a while. They had just wrapped the voice acting and now it's all been stolen, story boards, songs, the acting, the animation. It's not like you can redo an entire season. And I find it sad that someone WILL pay the $$$$ to get the episodes up for sale (because we know someone will)
