Happy 46th Birthday Star Trek!

Photobucket

Happy Birthday to my first love, my inspiration growing up, one of my very first and still most beloved Fandoms. I don't know who or where I'd be without you but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be the me I am today (as lame as that might be). When you turn 50, we're having a big party. (and for those who follow [livejournal.com profile] jana_denardo the ST party is going on over there too More Star Trek HERE ). I wish I could link you all up to what one of my friends said about Star Trek on Facebook. It is profound and wonderful.

I'm feeling bad. I wanted summer to die. It came early. It should die early dammit. The low tonight? 78! WTF. And SOOOOO humid. I want to know when I fell through a rift and ended up in hell Florida.

I'm still hard at work on my scarred soldier story and after seeing two MORE m/m stories with the name 'Sebastian' I know for sure he needs a name change.

Speaking of which, how about Eliana Evans for a pen name?

Did you see the interactive Google banner for the anniversary? It's fabulous!

I know. i can't stop maiming the Red Shirt on that

I like Eliana Evans. It's alliterative.

YAY, STAR TREK. YAAAAAAAAY.

[identity profile] geeky-ramblings.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Me either!

46! Wow.
Star Trek was my first real fandom/obsession, and still holds a very special place in my geeky heart.
One of the highlights of my Trek experience was going to see and hear Gene Roddenberry. I thought there'd be a couple of hundred of us there...instead there were thousands. I had no idea I had so much company!
I just read today that the next movie comes out May 17, 2013. :)

Elianna is Matt & Cody's youngest daughter's name. :)

Have you played with the Google startup page today? They're celebrating the Star Trek anniversary.

(I should have read the other comments first -- I see you have indeed seen the Google page! :D)

Hahaha is it? I thought it would sound nice.

Yes indeed I have, again and again

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
I know, it's getting up there (and by default so am I which I know from your pov is arguable).

I got to see him once too and it was at a college. There probably were thousands. Pretty amazing isn't it.

oh good. I know it had gotten delayed somehow

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yes it is and it's pretty. And probably easier than Aurelia

YAY STAR TREK

[identity profile] wildrider.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, Eliana Sakari O'Connor. She'll be born in 2020.

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Ah so a little bit away yet

[identity profile] ozma914.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
46 years!?!?

I feel so old.

[identity profile] 0-mother-0.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
I agree across the board about Star Trek and this damnedable heat and humidity.

My first fantasy life was in outer space with these cool cats. They always saved me from this backwards, thumb-dragging swamp.

[identity profile] wildrider.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, she's the surprise baby.

They do both come from families that tended to run large.

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
ah okay. have you started that story yet?

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
same here (minus the thumb dragging swamp, though the three rivers area could get humid). I was always off with Spock somewhere in my head

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell me about it

[identity profile] wildrider.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really -- it's just stuff on the timeline. Eliana is born just before the events of the Nano from year before last (the YA one that's not fully completed but "won"), and their two oldest (twins) are fifteen in that one.

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-08 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
ah okay. Yeah I have plenty of Nano's that 'won' and have yet to be finished (in fact Killian and Taz's story is the first one I've ever truly finished)

[identity profile] wildrider.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Of all the ones I've won, I've only completed two ("Vampire and Me" and "The Long Way Home").

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
you're doing better than me. Granted, the one I have in Link now, I have half the last chapter done but it's been that way since last year

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, Aurelia still reminds me of gold.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, STAR TREK.

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
well it should. they share a root

long live Star Trek (I should have writen a BBT drabble for it)

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
I think you mentioned that before.

You still could! Sheldon and his 'crush' on Spock.

"It's NOT a crush!"

"...sure it isn't."

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
that wasn't the BBT one i planned. YOU do that one (and it would be funny)

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2012-09-09 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Pfft.

We'll see.
