Gip and pimping

I think my new icon sums up how I feel about the world right now (especially disturbing to me is this need of ours to download videos of people dying such as some of the beheadings in Iraq some time back and now Steve Irwin's death).

I still feel like crap and I'm in a bad mood so to cheer myself up, here's some pimping for us.

For those BtVS/AtS writers on my list, [livejournal.com profile] leni_ba is running another Choose Your Author ficathons. It's a lot of fun. i've done the previous 4 and always got a good story out of it. Sadly, this time with them doubling my work load I just didn't feel I could commit to it this time out. Still, please check it out. CYA

I did however push my limits and sign up for the Spook 'Em Multi-fandom challenge. I mean, it's Halloween related. How could I resist. Besides for this one you write for yourself so you're not disappointing too many people if you don't get it done. Check it out. Who knows what fandom(s) I'll actually do. Spook ‘Em

And if you're interested in doing little scenes of original fication based on a weekly prompt, please join us as [livejournal.com profile] nanomowhinging. It's really been working out well for some of us.

You know, of course, that it really doesn't help that Steve was filming a documentary when he died. That just guaranteed there'd be video footage. On the other hand, there will be no question about what killed him (survival tip: When something gets driven into your chest cavity, leave it there, don't yank it out. Leaving the "cork" in his punctured heart might have saved him, but then the poor guy probably had no idea the barb had penetrated that far, and snatching it out was pure reflex.)

I had exactly that same thought
