holiday memory drabble
Joyce - Christmas Past
Wrapping the gifts just so, signing Santa’s name to all the gift tags, hiding them in their small house just so her daughter couldn’t find them, those were things Joyce missed when Buffy got too old for Santa. Other traditions evolved, morphing from leaving cookies for Santa to putting up the decorations together. Hours had been spent in the kitchen baking cookies and attacking the malls like big game hunters on safari as they pursued the perfect gift, Joyce even missed these things. Christmas eve and all she could do was sit up and worry, wondering what Buffy faced tonight.
