Writerly Ways

Okay last time I said I had no thoughts then turned out to have many. This time i really mean it. It was finals week and i didn't have time to much in the way of thinking. I did, however, take a page out of [livejournal.com profile] masqthephlsher's book and try doing the morning pages (though I still say [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog is better suited to this than i)

I learned a very important thing. I'm not great at remembering to do things first thing in the morning. I'd rather get up and attack the day. I did however get 6 & 1/2 pages done in my first week so I suppose that in the grand scheme of things the morning papers did work for me. That's nearly 7 pages of new original fiction.

I think this week I'll turn them to the [livejournal.com profile] springkink thing after last night's mini-OMG I'm not going to get them done attack. As [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog reminded me we don't start posting until June but I also know most of my May is taken up already with things i have to accomplish. Even if I'm just writing erotica, I still like to have a hint of plot. and as per usual I bit off a huge chunk of things (not to mention [livejournal.com profile] fma_fic_contest's prompts continue to bunny the daylights out of me.

Hmm like I said, no deep thoughts.

I think the point of the papers in the morning is your brain chemistry is a tad different then, you're more disconnected.

Frankly I doubt that i AM that. I'm the type to roll out of bed 5 minutes before the alarm and I'm already thinking pretty much as I would at night

For me, i think these pages could come when i set aside 10 minutes with nothing but music in the background and no distractions and I'd have the same results
