Bob Evans Down on the Farm

It's fun putting stuff on hold to pick up later at Bob Evans Farm Fest when your last name is Evans. They look at you like they're wondering is she...?

I should not be allowed into a festival by myself. SOmeone needs to control my wallet. I spent 100$ in cash and more on credit. Whimpers. At least SOME of it is gifts. Meanwhile one of them mom says she no longer wants. Head desk. She always begs for this stuff so I bought it. It's sweet pepper jelly and is yummy. While on the phone she asked did you get that cotton candy made from maple syrup? Yes Mom I'm eating it as I talk to you. 'NOT FAIR!' Yes it is Mom, yes it really is and it's YUMMY.

The festival is just one giant collection of vendors and farm stuff so let me just babble in no particular order and share urls of the ones I liked.

I have bought from Courtney before but not this time. I covet her tree of life glass bead but at 145$ (it has silver in and around it) I'm going to have to commit to only buying that one thing and not everything under the sun if I want to buy one.

I did buy a little of Katie's beef jerky but it's quite pricey so I didn't get much!

I buy from this dairy farm often. Love their cheese. I took pictures of some of their animals but they're on the phone and it's in the other room and I'm lazy. I pet an alpaca. There was a baby cow with this HUGE deep voice calling for his mother who was in the milking pen next to him and he was having none of it. Anyhow I picked up their aphrocheesiac.

Your Granny’s candy was tasty but I was good. I didn't buy any.

I seriously considered buying one of these bird feeders using mason jars and vintage glass but I have no good place to hang it and I've never seen a bird here.... Backwoods Bend

I did get some seeds from circa plants and after telling him that the moon and stars watermelon ones didn't germinate, he gave me one pack free.

And in the drinkables my favorite silver bridge coffee I got highlander grogg (butterscotch & rum) and a pup in a cup tea

Also in the edibles I did get some fudge, that maple cotton candy and starfire farms's sweet pepper jelly, not to mention two honeys (one dark, one unfiltered and raw) and oh the bucket of beans slow cooked in cast iron cauldrons over a wood fire. DELICIOUS (but that first bean soup of the season is a colonic wake up call)

In none edibles I got some soaps, peach vanilla, patchouli rose and jasmine from Elder Forest and I tried their pain relieving balm, expecting nothing. Later I realized it had really worked (after it wore off) I couldn't read the ingredient label's microscopic print) but it DID help. Now I wish I had bought it. It has capscian and white willow in it so no wonder if worked. (two proven pain relievers).

And speaking of soaps I bought some at the Renn fest St Sadie’s fresh cut roses and blackberry bordeaux which smells so damn good you'd swear it was edible so people who like to buy for me I'm good with soap. (and a local friend is trying to get into making it and I volunteered as a tester.

The silverware jewelry maker doesn't have a website on their card but I did get two pieces from them (but not from the stone jeweler or the dichroic glass one that I usually buy for) and since I didn't buy from those other two I got both pieces from the alpaca felter and together they were cheaper than a lot of places I've seen this stuff. Like under 60$ for both. One shawl and one scarf and watch them both hang in my closet getting moth eaten knowing me. I can't find her card.Hmmm

I had a dream and I don't remember all of it. I was in an auditorium and it was a talk by all the original Star Trek crew. Shatner was on stage talking and Nimoy was in the aisle and then suddenly the show runners allowed the fans to mingle with them. CHaos erupted. I was so afraid for them because people were trampling each other trying to get close and then Nimoy put his hand on my shoulder and told me not to worry (I miss him.)

Also I've been a) using my cane again a little & b) have been clenching my fists when I sleep. I have tendonitis in my thumb and wrist so badly I can barely use my left hand. It's going to make nano bitchy

That sounds like a fun day. The soaps sound wonderful smelling.

I'm glad you had a fun time & no spills!! :D

LOVE the jewelry!! It's sooo pretty! So are your shawl & scarf! :D

I looked at the birdfeeders. *sighs* They're gorgeous, but a bit too pricey for me. That said they are worth the time & effort put into making them, along with the old glass. I just can't afford them at this time.

I got the warm & fuzzies when you said dream!Grandpa Nimoy comforted you. It just seems like something the man would actually do!

Thanks. Yep spill-free but I'll be at the moonville fest tonight so another chance for spillage.

Thanks. I'm glad you think so

My thought was as beautiful as they are, they're a tad pricey to jam outside where squirrels will climb on them.

It does, doesn't it? He seemed like such a nice man.

You're welcoem. That's good, and for tonight, be prepared & don't forget the plastic. :D

You're welcoem. :D

This is true & where I'd be hanging one, a good chance the lil boogers would break it. Still, it does give one ideas for a DIY project. You can get cheap stuff at a thrift shop. The bottom part looks like a chicken feeder, for baby chicks. One could probably find that online. About the only pricey thing I can see, is getting a drill bit for drilling into glass or ceramics. This place has them for $3.49 which is pretty cheap. http://www.ruralking.com/agriculture/livestock/chicken-supplies/chicken-feeders-accessories.html

*nods* Yeah. I wish I could have met him. *sighs*

ahahaha

Ooo, i have rural kings here. thanks and yes you definitely need a special bit for glass/ceramic and I don't have that

Love your dream.

And that day sounds like a lot of fun. I need to write up yesterday's Renn Faire experience and get my pictures off the camera.

Later, when I'm at home.

The dream was something.

It was a very nice day. I need to write up the moonville fest. Glad you got to go to the faire
