It's snowing in Los Angeles

Meanwhile here in SE Ohio it was EIGHTY. What the actual hell? While there is still a chance there will be snow in March but this might be the year when we had no snow and 2 days of ice only. That is unheard of and not a particularly good sign.

Also should I be worried that the class average on the endocrinology and special senses test was 66.6? Hmmm

L's house went on the market. Waiting for my parents to tell me it's the perfect house for me. It IS however it would also be a bad idea.

We got our research microscopes today. They are lovely and I want to hoard them.

I have started opening amazon whenever I look at Goodreads and Netgalley giveaways for fantasy books. I'm learning that I just don't have the attention span any more for long books (I have like 5 books over 500 pages to get thru this year for challenges and I just want them done). Fantasy is getting lower and lower on my list of things I want to read because of the sheer SIZE of the books (compared to the 80s and 90s) Goodreads and Netgalley oddly don't give page numbers any more (because 'they don't matter on ebooks.') but Amazon will have both the paper and ebooks so I can get the page numbers there. It's not fair to me or the person I'm reviewing for if I keep getting these monster books I know I cannot read fast.

I was going to list out Feb's reading today but I am tired after 2 days of no sleep. (I've had less then 6 hours in two days) so just have the weekly meme

What I Just Finished Reading:

Spy x family vol 3. I liked this volume a little better than the first two. I mean I think it's cute but I am not as blown away by this manga as so many others are.

Sonnets from the Porteguese by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. My lit profs lied to me. These are NOT romantic. They're depressing AF.

The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaVelle suggested to me by...I think spikedluv. I loved this and I've been enjoying authors of color reworking Lovecraft's worlds, giving us different perspectives (not necessarily less to do about race, some of it like this one plays with Lovecraft's overt racism). I'm there for that.

What I am Currently Reading: Notice how none of my finished books were even IN my currently reading list last week other than the sonnets? Ha.

Little Eve by Catriona Ward gothic horror (historical) and weird, deeply weird

There Comes a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool fantasy, this feels like 500 pages of set up

What I Plan to Read Next:
Something for Popsugar or Legends and Lattes if it comes
