Made it home

Kanda and I had a good ride back. I did a little shopping once here too because Right Stuf was having manga bundle sales 3 for 20$ which is pretty good when you consider they're usually 10$ a piece.

No writerly ways because I'm struggling to get the last 8K of my novel (it's time eluding me). At least the novel talked to me all the way home. I have some middle now and the end. This is probably going to be the shortest novel I've ever written. It will probably end up in the 60-70K range. I'll have a crap ton of links this coming weekend.

And I could use some help. I need to get my Deadwood steampunk short story out the door this week. See what you think of this blurb for the cover letter and it NEEDS a title. I can't think of anything I like.

Twelve year old Aurelia Marchetti is proud of serving on her mother's airship, the Minerva, even if it means facing down airship pirates. Aurelia has already lost her lower leg to them but she wants to be nowhere other than in the sky. She is, however, looking forward to their port of call in Deadwood, South Dakota. Aurelia is looking forward to seeing her friends, Whirlwind Horse and Ling Xue.

Upon making landfall, Aurelia meets Whirlwind Horse's grandson, John Spotted Crow, though he prefers his Lakota name, Kangi. A recent fire left Kangi orphaned and living with his grandfather. Aurelia befriends him and along with their mutual friend, Ling, they have fun in the hills of Deadwood. Their good times come to an abrupt end when they run afoul of murderous thieves and airship pirates who kidnap Ling.

It's up to Aurelia and Kangi, along with the crew of the Minerva to stop the pirates and save Ling's life.
