That's right Mother Nature

The moment I get back from Gettysburg it drops back down to around 80. Keep laughing nature, it's funny I'm sure.

I have the trip to Ireland and Wales planned and it's way sooner than anticipated. Yikes.

Mom went for her first post op appointment. The podiatrist is a baby. I mean she must be fresh from residency. I doubt she's 30. She liked my purple hair. Mom's foot looks pretty good. Not red, not swollen but because of where the injury is they're leaving the sutures in for nearly a month to insure closure. She's annoyed. I told her to suck it up and wear that boot because you don't want to undo the good healing.

I finished my edits on the Christmas story but I want to look at it once more before sending it back to them. I've been tired all day so I'll wait on that

I also managed to get two units of the anatomy class prepared. I'll take it.

And it's day one of:

Fannish House Keeping: I'm as ready as I'm going to get for this. I thought about removing some of my old ones but you know, who knows when I might need to go back and find something. I'm in the process of moving stories from FFN to AO3.

But it occurs to me that a lot of the newcomers to my journal might not know my main fandoms. I wrote most, hands down for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel: The Series & Fullmetal Alchemist. There's no doubt 500+ stories from those three alone.

I dabbled in Lucifer, The X-Files, Saiyuki, Fruits Basket, D. Gray-man and several other anime. I've played in all the Star Treks

I am in awe. I'm up to a grand total of 39 works, including art that I've posted to AO3. You can add in roughly a dozen more that I pretend I didn't write on FFN under an old fan name {one of which was Buffy}. I can't wrap my brain around five hundred.

I wrote my first fanfic (the stuff I won't admit to) in 1996 and I've been posting on AO3 (the stuff I will admit to) since 2011. A few are drabbles, but I've also got a few novel-length stories in there. The main thing is just that I write slow and I let ages slide by without writing anything at all. I had this "brilliant" idea for a fic community that I started to try and prompt writing on-the-spot without overthinking things, but then I chickened out and never promoted it.

I would probably fess up to the old stuff if I hadn't been dumb enough to put my real name on it. Like for years if you googled my real name, you'd find my fanfic. It's finally faded away so you'd have to dig really deep to find anything. But I have this fear that one day my boss will find out I've written explicit Wincest and I can't even decide if that's irrational paranoia or not.

Sadly, almost all of my bad fic is under this same name. :P But I think I deleted most of it.

One really bad fic is still on a site under another name, but honestly, I've kept it. It was awful, but it was also the first novel-length work I ever finished, and I have a lot of pride in that. Maybe that's how you should look at some of your old work. Even if it wasn't anything you'd write now (a) that doesn't necessarily mean it was bad, and (b) even if it's not the best, hey, you still worked hard to create it.

What?!! When did this happen? Last I heard it was a no-go. But yay, that's great!
