Pimping and a question

first to the pimping. [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog is starting up the next challenge at[livejournal.com profile] color_i_fic,  shades of grey. You get to write five stories (or do icons this time for you graphically inclined)

[Bad username or unknown identity: for one fandom pairing/character. Any fandom. (so far I see people clamoring for Harry Potter, Fullmetal Alchemist and the Monkees)]

[Bad username or unknown identity: How many shades of grey can be applied to your favorites? Come play and find out.]

[Unknown site tag]

[Bad username or unknown identity: And the questions, why do cats find beind petted with  your toes so insulting? I have two outdoor cats here who think they're mine. They don't quite get along]

[Bad username or unknown identity: The girl was next to my chair (It was like 70 again today so I was outside) and I was petting her. The boy was at my feet and I used my toes. Like every cat]

[Bad username or unknown identity: I've ever owned he got offended. I've yet to figure out what's up with that. The feet aren't that stinky]

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
in a word, yep. They still have a strong following, small but strong.

Well, good for them. That must be a fun fandom. I like small, loyal fandoms.

The fan I was talking to last night seems to be having a great time. Evil Little Dog liked to torture me with it when I lived with her:-P I'm not a huge fan but I like some of it. I'm impressed with the intelligence of Mike so....

And speaking of small and loyal, I'm writing, listening to the Chieftains and catching up on the Orlon Window right now (go me, watch me multi task)

We're small, but fierce. *grins*

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have used the word scary

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It equals out to be about the same thing. Scary, fierce. *shrug*

Imagining Monkees fans being "fierce."

*giggles*

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
rabid maybe....

C'mon, ravening fangirls can be fierce.

Or, subsequently, they can throw themselves down staircases. *grins*

I used to be part of the fandom. Half of my Flist is still in it; it made me a lot of friends. Unfortunately, it's turned extremely petty and bitter, and I'm glad that I lost interest. Still, it's sad, because it was my first really big fandom.

Trust me, that happens in *every* fandom. It's the nature of certain kinds of people, especially on the internet, to behave that way. I've seen it happen over and over again in totally unrelated fandoms.

I've learned to stick with the folks I like and trust (and who can behave civilly!), and not lose the benefit of fandom friends.
