song title drabble and blathering
Hmmm, why does everyone do the questioning type memes when I'm super busy and can't think to do them. Sigh. So if you're wondering why I'm not interviewing anyone, I only have ONE more week left to class and I'm insane. Speaking of insane, this drabble half drove me there.

song title - Amazing Grace
Pairing - Spike/Dru
Time Line - oh let's say the 80's. They had security lights in church parking lots by then.
“I don’t understand why we’re here, pet,” Spike said, eyeing the big crucifix uneasily where it dangled menacingly over the altar. Catholics were cracked, he decided. Who wanted to stare at a man writhing in horrible pain unless, of course, you were the one inflicting it? That was just fun. Seeing it captured in plaster was just unsettling especially when Spike considered the fact that a crucifix would probably burn him as fast as a plain old cross.
“It’s serene, no voices in my head here. I feel like an Easter egg,” Dru giggled as the security light outside shone through the stained glass, dyeing her skin.
“I just don’t get why we’re here,” Spike reiterated, hoping Dru didn’t realize being in the cathedral made him nervous. He wasn’t afraid, of course, never that. He just didn’t want to accidentally brush up against anything blessed.
“Wait for it,” Dru sat on the altar, between two gold-tipped white candles. She dangled her legs like a child on a swing. “Sisters of Mercy. I was supposed to marry God, too. Singing hymns, making God love me again, a pretty life. Daddy fixed that,” Dru said mournfully.
Spike caught her swinging foot and dropped a kiss on her arch. “Boring. This is the life for you, pet.” Spike glanced down the stone archway that lead to the building across the way. He could hear an all too familiar hymn being sung as the nuns made their way into the cathedral for the evening devotions. He grinned broadly. “I get it. You want to show the Sisters of Mercy no mercy.”
Dru held her arms out to him and Spike swung her off the altar. “Hide now and wait until they’re all filled up with grace. They’ll be so sweet then, like honey.”
Spike kissed her as he carried her to a deep dark portion of the cathedral. “I love how you think, Drusilla.”
