lost a battle with my own brain

I told my brain I didn't have time for another long story. I've two half finished nano projects now and I've already started scenes for the next Nano. I don't want to know about this urban fantasy thing it has bubbling in the back of my brain. I don't want to hear about it, dream about it, nothing.

Tonight the characters have been named and a scene is done and will be posted at [livejournal.com profile] nanomowhinging later tonight. Sigh.

then I tried to fight through my block on Hyperion's Son. the problem is I remember how I wanted it to go especially for the pivotal scene i'm on now at long last. The long last is the problem. With so much going on, this kept getting set aside. That's the #1 reason I'm not doing ficathons this year. I remember the scene and it was good but I don't remember enough to make it what I wanted it to be. It's like losing a file and not quite being able to recreate it. Sigh. It's causing a massive block. Sigh. sigh.

and taken from everyone...

Canna are so pretty.

And I hope you get through that block on HS for my own selfish reasons.

Maybe it would help to just chuck your original idea and start fresh on the scene? Go from where the story is now?

that's sort of what I've done. My real problem with this story in the execution is that it combines ALL of the Scoobies and ALL of Angel's crew and it's like god, some of you just need to go away.

The problem is the scene isn't coming across as nasty as I wanted it to. Sigh.
