President's Day

in many ways I'd rather be working (and well I was in my way) because of how far behind we were. But since we weren't, I decided to head to Athens. I had wanted to go to Columbus this weekend but it was not to be.

Mostly all i did was go to the very good Chinese/Japanese restaurant for lunch (damn suishi is expensive), overate, then went to the very LARGE Kroger's. Yeah I should never be allowed in that place alone. At least I passed up the most expensive and/or worst things alive (okay I broke down and got a long john to take home).

I did go down to Ohio U. and to the Donkey Bar coffee shop which was surprisingly packed at 230 in the afternoon but that place always is. It felt good to just sit and write in a real coffee house if only for a half hour.

The carbon monoxide poisoning headaches seem to be close to fading. The nausea isn't but i really can't blame CO for that (did make it worse though) I'm sure A LOT of the problem is I'm using OTC prilosec to cover my evening nexium because i can't afford 340$ in just THOSE pills. Can't wait for the deductible to kick in. That said, I know i need to have another endoscope. Was hoping to push it off until spring.

Adopt one today!

Man, I hate high deductibles coupled with costly meds. That's why I chose the PPO option at work again, although everyone was saying what a savings the HSA was--essentially, you pay lower $$ overall, but you have to pay $1,500 or so out of your own pocket before the HSA kicks in. I'm on antidepressants and have occasionally needed surgery. I can't afford not to have low-cost copays, even if the overall insurance costs more. And don't get me started on what life is like without insurance.

We need nationalized medicine of some kind. All the grownup countries are doing it. (Sigh.)

we weren't given a choice

Feel better. At least you had a more amusing day P-day then I did.

I don't know if you ever watch "Paranormal State" on A&E, but Monday night they aired an episode in which a woman was plagued by a supernatural entity that caused pressure in the head, nausea, and dizziness. The psychic they brought in could pick up nothing in the way of spirit activity. Further examination revealed that the house was haunted by, you guessed it, a CO leak from the furnace flue. Kind of an anticlimax, but it provided a good opportunity for the crew to air a warning about the risks of CO poisoning.

that's something Ghosthunters routinuely look for. That DID happen to me in my Columus apt. My gas stove had a slow leak that was making me sick. that's how i nearly cut off my thumb with scissors while talking to ELD

The frilled baby is SO cute! (Mine just hatched, too) That's a different stone dragon... nifty!

see i'm not too thrilled with the frilled

it's the geode stone alt. You can get it with stone and or earth crossbreeding

We'll have to see what it looks like all grown up.

Interesting. I have a couple of stones, but I don't have an earth.

i've seen it, the adult isn't too bad

you could try the stones

[identity profile] wildrider.livejournal.com 2009-02-18 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I might just. It looks like a lot of people suddenly have the geode. If I'd realized, I'd have snagged one of the rocks while I was trying for a valentine... *g*

[identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com 2009-02-18 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
everyone wants a geode too so it's hard to get the dumb stone ones

[identity profile] wildrider.livejournal.com 2009-02-19 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I bred both my rocks. We shall see. :-)
