Dawn & Giles - Post series - Why Florida Sucks

“I thought I’d love Florida.” Dawn thumped the artifact she had been sent to retrieve down. “You can keep it.”

Giles looked up at his apprentice Watcher. “You did volunteer for the mission. What was wrong? I thought it went smoothly.”

Dawn grimaced. “The wand was for sale in the Purple Rose. It was the damn bugs. There are mosquitoes all over Cassadaga. Then it was love-bug season. My windshield was covered with them. Or the grasshoppers the size of my hand and worse, the giant flying roaches. Why didn’t anyone tell me about them? Give me vampires any day!”

what a beautiful weekend

The temperatures were absolutely gorgeous. I got a lot done outside. Would have gotten more done if my sugar had been more cooperative. Still, my garden is sad looking. However, it's producing in spite of all the weeds. I had wilted swiss chard in red wine, garlic eggplant, and cherry tomatoes in a garden salad. Tomorrow, i'm frying up the peppers. Yum. It was so beautiful out tonight I just sat on the porch and watched the hummingbirds dive bombing each other. A mockingbird nearly hit me swooping after a bug. That's what's so fun about temperate days like today, everything is so much more active.


Didn't get the house cleaned as much as I wanted to but at least I made a dent


and naturally here it comes love my two abandoned eggs.

& (especially pussywillow who seems to be a lemon)
