Dawn & Giles - Post series - Why Florida Sucks

“I thought I’d love Florida.” Dawn thumped the artifact she had been sent to retrieve down. “You can keep it.”

Giles looked up at his apprentice Watcher. “You did volunteer for the mission. What was wrong? I thought it went smoothly.”

Dawn grimaced. “The wand was for sale in the Purple Rose. It was the damn bugs. There are mosquitoes all over Cassadaga. Then it was love-bug season. My windshield was covered with them. Or the grasshoppers the size of my hand and worse, the giant flying roaches. Why didn’t anyone tell me about them? Give me vampires any day!”

Author's Note - The Purple Rose is a real store. I used to live about a block away.
