New Beginnings Drabbles
Giles – S6 Unwanted Beginnings
It had been a long time since he had seen Bath, had forgotten how beautiful it was. He didn’t really want to be starting all over again, not like this. Oh, he knew it would happen some day. There were really only two options, he’d get killed in the field or she would. He would have preferred it was him. He had begun to think of Buffy as somehow invincible. He wasn’t ready for retirement with her cold in the ground. Being back home wasn’t the balm people might suspect. He missed his old life. He missed his children.
Angel S4 – Sacrifice
What more could he give his child? This new beginning, a life of normalcy with people who would love him, a real family, was the most precious thing Angel could imagine. And no one would ever know of his sacrifice. It would go unappreciated and if anyone knew the cost, he would be reviled. Angel couldn’t think about what he had just gotten his friends into for Connor’s sake. There really was no contest, his friends or his son. He would never regret the choice he made. He pressed against the window for a final look, barely able to turn away.
Connor – Post NFA Over and Over
Starting over again was really getting old. Sometimes he still missed Quor-Toth. Hell, he even missed those rare good days at the Hyperion. A lot of being Connor Reilly got fuzzy when his real memories came back. Here he was beginning all over again, trying to get to know Angel. It was the least he could do after the big battle when it was so obviously clear that he did love his father. The vampire was waiting for him in the basement of his college apartment, needing a little nursing back to health. It was a good beginning for them both.

Connor, nursing your father back to health seems to be a constant preoccupation with you.
