Spike & Dru - 1970's -Christmas Feast

Tackling mothers with children was always a dicey thing. Sometimes they fought like wild cats and Spike had to admit he enjoyed that. Other times they would do whatever they were asked so long as the kids weren’t harmed. Tonight was the latter.

Dru had insisted they get all dolled up for Midnight mass. She was resplendent in her red dress and gold jewelry, a present he’d unwrap under the tree later. Soundproofed ‘cry’ rooms provided an excellent hunting ground. Dru held a dead baby, listening to the priest.

“I’m so full,” Spike said, resting his head on her shoulder.

Angel & Connor – after the fall - Disagreement

“You’re so full of crap, Angel.” Connor tested the edge of his blade, ignoring his father.

“I don’t want you to take unnecessary risks,” the vampire protested. “It’s dangerous out there. You shouldn’t be going alone.”

“I’ve been alone most of my life,” Connor countered.

“If you haven’t noticed, L.A. got sucked into hell.” Angel shoved some stakes into his coat pocket. “None of us should be out there working alone.”

“Hard to miss we’re in another hell dimension.” Connor tucked a spare clip into his pocket. “Did you ever think it might feel like home to me?”

Angel scowled.

Dawn/Connor - post series AU - Home cooking

“I thought you had a cast-iron stomach from living in Quor-Toth.” Dawn had a spatula dangling from her fingers.

Connor eyed the cooking utensil as if it were the worst demon he’d ever faced. “I do but I’m full, honest.” He had eaten enough of Dawn’s strange concoctions to know he was better off faking a full stomach.

She pouted at him. “You really want to miss out on this?”

“I’ll take leftovers later.”

“Suit yourself.” Dawn went into the kitchen, returning with a box of chocolate-covered strawberries. “Dinner was going to be these off my stomach.”

"You tricked me!"

I just started reading Anne Rice so I was really in the mood for this. I swear is Conner ever gonna learn not to mess with Summers women? *head/desk*

Connor is occasionally a slow learner

Well, Conner spent much of his life without feminine contact, after all -- and add that to dealing with a Summers woman!

well yes, he's a bit behind boys in his age bracket

My favorite was that last one (never assume Connor!) but that middle one hit hard. Angel is always going to feel gulty over that.

Poor Connor, Poor Angel

I think I like Disagreement the best. Angel is being such a dad. Connor's response, especially his last line, that it feels like home to him, is spot on.

thank you very much. Angel and Connor do make for a lot of good angst
