so the landlord showed up today
Feb. 20th, 2010 11:55 pmonly a week after I told him the sink in the bathroom was spraying everywhere. He showed up with his son and another of his construction crew. At least the son seems to have a spark of something (frankly I just think the landlord is worn out. he's getting too old for all of this)
They didn't actually fix anything. They just sort of cleaned out the hard water lime from the sink and the shower and looked at the hot water tank which didn't have one of the elements turned on (as I pointed out this was not touched since the last time it was 'fixed.' twit)
Replaced the filter in the heat pump since it was freaking tearing apart and coming up as fiberglass in my vents.
Pointed out AGAIN that there are no base boards in the bathroom and I will not be held responsbile for the fact the floor is peeling up as a result. (Son was shocked)
Forgot to mention yesterday what the mouse ate. .. Apparently it got into my closet before Rasputin died, and ate, not any of the shit sweaters in there. No it ate the silk/angora sweater...The collar and a shoulder are gone. ARGH. Anyone want scrap silk/angora for anything?
DAMN YOU BIG BANG FINISH ALREADY
and thanks again to Enemy & Bob_fish for finishing the beta on my threesome.
speaking of which, my little short story sold 40 copies in 2 days. is pleased. go porn go

Date: 2010-02-21 10:17 am (UTC)That sucks about your sweater. And landlord. I had an ancient and doddery landlady for five years so I feel your pain there. She was sweet but the place (draughty old Victorian house) was falling apart, and good luck getting her to fix anything properly rather than cheaply.
But yay porn! Good luck with the new story, and you're welcome about the beta. Hope they pick it up and it also sells lots of copies (and inspires you to write more of the boys).

Date: 2010-02-21 07:22 pm (UTC)I passed on a landlord like you just described. She was 80 if she was a day and the last tenants freaking TRASHED the place and I would have been expected to fix it. I think not.
thanks. Oh Temple's already talking. I may have to murder him.

Date: 2010-02-21 07:45 pm (UTC)This landlady was well over eighty. It was a shared house I lived in for five years while I was a grad student. It would have been a lovely place if someone spent a ton of money fixing it up. She didn't charge much rent but on the other hand she couldn't remember any of our names, and when the boiler broke, she had a new boiler big enough for a one-bed flat installed in a huge, draughty five-bedroom house. We froze our asses off every winter.
Don't kill Temple! He's such a lovely little puppy. I hope he got his Tommy gun back.

Date: 2010-02-21 08:11 pm (UTC)yeah i can see where that would be problem. ELD had issues similiar to that in her own house with the heater
Temple will get his gun back. He wants to talk about a surprise visit form his family
