downloaded the software for verizon at the library. Installed it. Got an error code...dear sweet goddess what now? I called tech support and he was actually helpful (and a little disparaging of some of his fellow techs for their advice). Nothing's improved mind you but hey I tried.

the perplexing thing is Roy. He ran in twice today. Each time eating a bowl full of food. The first time he headed out quickly and didn't want me to pet him. The second time, Roy wanted to stay. Fine until he started bullying the others so I went to move him along. He wouldn't leave. he ran around the house again and again. I would have left him alone but he was acting like I was going to beat him. This behavior started last year. At first I thought it was an adversion to having his ear medicine. BUt now a cat I've cared for for 5 years is acting like I'm this horrible thing that wants to hurt him. I don't get it. Finally he did go out but not before racing over my foot and cutting open my toe.

The big toe...the one I can't feel correctly. Let me tell you as a diabetic that's scary. Yes I'm a wound care expert but that only worries me more. cat nails are filthy things. I washed it with alcohol, dressed it up and all I can do now is wait. Sigh.

Two big vacations where i'll be heading out with a damaged foot. Luckily I don't leave until next weekend so hopefully it'll be healed.

Sad to say but sometimes cats just go completely psycho. I grew up on a farm with LOTS of cats outside (at one time we counted a grand total of 50 farm cats), along with one or two always being inside.

My mother once said that occasionally something inside a cat's mind just goes TILT and that's that. Sort of like a short circuit.

Sounds like Roy has had some feline circuitry go fizzle pop. Best you can do is keep an eye on him, and make sure he doesn't attack the other cats. Has he been given his yearly shots? There is a form of feline distemper.

h e has his shots but i'm wondering if it's a form of dementia/hardening of the arteries in the brain

*nodding* Cats DO get dementia! People seem to think cats are tough and indestructible....*snort*...more like they luck out a lot of the time but it does eventually catch up.

Heck I've known some cats that were certifiably insane!
