I got a late start but I headed to Columbus (and once I was close to there my local radio station said it was going to be foggy tonight). I wanted to go get my money out of the franklin conservancy membership. I went and played with the butterflies for at least an hour and got there when they were releasing them. A dying butterfly sat on my finger for a while. I'llbe going back in July when they put in the carnivorous plant exhibit.

I did get two 'pre-bonsai's' (i.e. little plants without the bonsai pots or any wiring). A Japanese maple and a Serissa Pink Mountain snow rose so now I have a Roy & Olivia? Roy Riza? MIles Olivia? to go with my Ed (ficus) and Al (chinese elm). (Ed's pleased. He's the biggest of the bonsais). I love that the pre-bonsai's are 7$ each, same plant in the pot add a zero...uh the pots are 10-20$ you have them RIGHT THERE. I'mnot paying 40-100$ for a bonsai.

Had lunch at the Happy Greek in the short north. I MISS the short north. Such a fun eclectic part of Columbus (ELD it's right north of where we were for animepunch. We should have gone there).

Did my usual shopping. Hit two borders, Trader Joe's, Whole Food Market (I still want that ostrich egg) and the asian market. Now I have red bean and lotus buns, brown sugar mochi, too much good wine and cheese, a plethora of olives and am now broke.

I did go to my favorite Indian/Chinese fusion restaurant for dinner. they've improved the drink menu. I had mango juice (Just to live dangerously). Delicious. The only problem with this place is EVERYTHING is ala carte so it's quite expensive.

It was like 69-70 on the way home. I did one of my favorite things, wound down the windows and let the wind blow over me as I rocket down the highway. My skin feels like a butterball turkey fresh from the fridge. I love that. Guess what, they were right. There fog for that extra added deer-hiding excitement.

got home to find my amazon box made it here and they RAMMED it into my mailbox. That was fun trying to pull it free.

Nice evening. Pictures of butterflies soon.

thanks to [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog for the virtual sunglasses.I almost bought a pair like that today at Steinmart.

Also, they had a Zuko prequel manga, which I would have bought since he's my fave character of Avatar. However,it's t he regular 10.99$ but it's HALF the size of a normal manga and the art wasn't that clean. (it was done as he's healing from his father's punishment). I want it. Will wait to buy it used. not paying that price for a skinny little manga

ETA - the Asian market at least gave me some ideas for Riding with Strangers. I think the detectives need to see what the Japanese think are snacks (like those spicy sesame dried fish things). Hikaru definately needs to fellate some Pocky for Liam

ETA 2 - OMG...okay I DO prefer subs over dubs, always have but there are benefits to having dubs. LIke I can do more than just stare at the tv. I hate that, really, being chained in one place.

And whee [livejournal.com profile] springkink prompts are up.

That said WHO sounded more gay? Yoki, Garfiel or Ling? Ling sounded like a totally flaming queen. It was awful.

Pagan friends have watched it roll in every night...coming down across the fields and slowly filling in the valley. They dubbed it "The Mists"

I'm with you, I think Ling took the cake on sounding the gayest. And I absolutely hated Mei's voice, felt like fingernails on a chalkboard everytime she spoke.

Probably a good thing I didn't stay up to watch it. (Sleep was good. Sleep was very good. I'm ready to go back to bed now.)

I have a Bonsai someone gave me that I have been watering and it's been growing. But I know nothing about it, really. Sometimes I think I should transplant it so it can get bigger--what do you think?

Can you point me to some good bonsai sites?

I don't like any of the women. THey're all equally awful. And Vic is annoying me with his two emotions, screaming and crying...

but Ling sounded like he should be moving to the Castro area of San Fran

To be honest no. I've always done this via books. I'm sure there are some good ones. depends on how big you want the bonsai to get. I prefer to keep the pots small but then you do have to pull up the tree and tease the rootball and snip it. It's tough to do this right without killing it. Wiring them is hard too
