odd day

started last night when the broadband powered itself off and refused to come back on. I didn't call Verizon yet but can't wait to see how they explain this.

I thought that the belated end of Nano party (sickness and school interuppted it in Dec) was when I wasn't in town but in going into the email to grab the address (didn't want to lose our mod's addy) I saw that it was today. So I ran up to Jackson, washed clothes and did a little grocery shopping (used my 10$ to splurge on scallops for tomorrow).

Came home got ready, went outside to find the landlord spray painting the shutters RIGHT NEXT to my car. We have so much grass and what not. Did he have to prop them up on the fence and do that with a craylon spray can right next to my car on a windy day. He's so damn lucky it didn't get on my car.

It was nice seeing everyone in Athens at the Donkey bar and now i have some of them on my social networks so I don't feel so out of the loop here in the boonies. Yes I naturally took both Bean Ed (to prove I'm finally a 21st cen. gal with a portable computating device) and my two anthologies to show off in general. I also hit the Salam before hand and am full of shawrama and Moroccan mint tea (I love moroccan cooking and textiles which is why I used them as sources for the Ishbalans in Sorrow's Dark Array)

I hit the other Krogers in Athens to get the cheeses and olives and dolamades. Yum. Put my name on the Donkey mailing list so I can see everything I'm missing by living in hell rural SE Ohio.

I made sure to put all my recipets in ONE place since I need them to be turned in to get my $$$ back from the school. I'm still missing the itemized recipets for several restaurants. WTF? grand total – 1,543.77. dear sweet god (and that's not counting all the money spent at evil_little_dog's.

Funny thing, ELD was mentioning a video store and I said I was surprised it was still around. THat I was surprised the one near my Kroger's was still around. found today that it's no longer going to be. I Never stepped into the place before but I sure went in today to pick its carcass. The movies weren't THAT cheap though but I got the last two Harry Potters, Star Trek and three things I've never seen before, Ponyo,a live action Blood Plus and an anime called Straitjacket

I have no hot water. As in NONE. I expected to have very little since hot water tanks need to be used to stay warm in the first place but it's not turning on. SIGH.

I bought a new pill box since mine finally snapped. I picked up the old one to transfer the pills. Dropped it. It landed right in the toilet and promptly sank and opened up. There went at least 50$ in pills. THank god my deductible is met but geez I might be a week without pills if I can't get them refilled early.

Kanda is back and Ling is out doing god knows what

Sounds like a good day besides the broadband. Here's hoping it comes back and you don't have to deal with Verizon BS again.

You may like Straitjacket. It's a bit odd at first until you get into it.

From what I can find when I first heard of it, it's based on a novella and manga series. I think the OVA is the only thing to hit stateside so far though.

Yeah. Looking over my copy and checking the company that brought it out. It's an OVA. They made it as an introduction to the manga it seems.
