Went to bed bath and beyond to get a salad spinner (for the times when just patting that lettuce dry isn't enough) then got my meds then hit borders and found that they skipped the manga entirely for darker than black and just put out the omnibus.
From there it was casino time. I doubled my money! (which is less exciting than it sounds when you realize i started with 20$)
In the meantime Dad went with Lucky Uncle to work on his lake house and on the way stopped at our cousin's greenhouse to get a tomato plant. he came home with a tree.
As many of you know, I have PCOS. I have almost no hair from my hairline to the center of my head on top (the sides and back are still fine) and my hair is frizzy and useless especially in this heat. I went to a salon today and said what can I do, short of wearing a wig, to hide the fact I'm half bald. She cut it, gave some suggestions (moroccan oil to help with the frizzy) and flat ironed it...one problem we forsee with this. It's not easy to flat iron your own hair and they're pricey.
somebody understands my disappointment with the final moments of Roy/Riza in FMA
Rogue not where he belongs
me with the tomato tree
the new hair
between mom's lack of photography skills and my face we combine to take lousy pictures
did i mention i bought really cool sandals the other day?

Date: 2010-06-25 04:35 am (UTC)the real question is how hard is this to do yourself? the hair dresser made it sound difficult

Date: 2010-06-25 04:52 am (UTC)The caveats here is (obviously) I don't flat iron my hair every day. I can usually be assed to do it once a month. And I already have pretty straight hair already, so it doesn't take much. I always section my hair off with clips/rubber bands and work on one section at a time, then tying it loosely back and work on the next section. I start from near the root, draw the flat iron along slowly outward, and move on to the next section. Took me a while to figure out a good setting to straighten in one pass without scorching my hair though.
It's not really difficult, just time consuming.

Date: 2010-06-25 07:51 am (UTC)The new hair is looking awesome, very glam. Hair straighteners are not cheap but I've always found them pretty easy and very quick to use, plus they heat up almost instantly. I like the new sandals too.

Date: 2010-06-25 01:20 pm (UTC)I don't find it difficult at all -- some mornings when I tame the wild curls maybe ten minutes? But my hair isn't as delicate as yours, so I would guess you'd have to use a lower setting and more care so it wouldn't burn or break. But I don't find it difficult, and I have poor circulation in my arms (which makes holding them above my head for any length of time sort of annoying).

I got it at Wally World. :)
AND I found a new and awesome thing. My hair had been frizzing in the humidity like WHOA... but so many products make my hair feel greasy by the end of the day. BLECH.
THIS styling milk from Garnier is great... and fool proof.

With practice, even I can straighten my hair. Though usually I am lazy and put it up into Odango buns. I HATE sweating and I hate having my hair on my neck when it can touch my skin. I know... why have long hair? I like it straightened in the winter.
