Went to Ollie's today, an overstock store.I've never been since we don't have any where I live. They had gotten in a shipment of Paula Deen & Rachael Ray cookware, martha Stewart towels and books upon books. So another half dozen books (the what life was like in series, good stuff for writing), one Paula cast iron skillet, Rachael stoneware cassarole dish and Martha towels (not to mention a dozen of the new eco friendly light bulbs and a flower pot) later, I'm out 80 dollars (luckily it was 15% off Ollie days).

Went throught two of the half ruined file boxes. Found stories. Some novels I've thrown aside (more on those another day), stuff from college, stuff from high school, stories written in my elementary school tablet.... I should just throw it all out. And i might. But i want to read it just one last time and hoard it like the sicko I am.

Mom and I went to the casino tonight. the wheel of fortune teased me by leaning on the progressive before clicking over (so I won 4$ instead of 500). Moved over next to mom and turned my 20$ into 100$ then called it a night and went to watch the ponies race.

Adopt one today!

I wish we had an Ollie's. But our local Big Lots! and Tuesday Morning both got a big bonus from the closing of Mervyn's and Linens & Things, so currently there's still a lot of good quality cookware, linens, bathroom things, and curtain treatments we've been browsing. (I got some Paula Deen knives which are WICKED sharp as well as being pretty and red!)

I didn't NEED them, either, but I'm a sucker for items in pretty colors (red). Plus, they were only $10 for a set of two Santaku blades, one 5-inch and one 7-inch, so it was a smokin' deal. Big Lots can suck most of the time, but they're awesome when real closeouts are there.

Tuesday Morning is the high-end side; they routinely get closeouts from places like Macy's, Dillard's, Sachs, and such; china and silver and gourmet foods, crystal and blown glass in brands like Lenox and Spode, with the usual run of Calphalon and Kitchenaid. It's a great place to get fancy napkins, sheets, towels, crystal, and fancy junk no sane person pays full price for!

It's a good place for Barb and I to indulge in our champagne tastes while staying within our budget!

Yeah, there was a blown-glass bowl Barb LOVED but it was at TM for nearly $90 -- a price we could not justify for a bowl that wasn't serviceable, just attractive.
