cornerofmadness | Ginko is Gone

After sitting for over an hour in the vet's clinic, Ginko has been surrendered. You would know his eye was totally clear today. He liked riding in the car and once the dogs were out of the waiting room I took him out. He sat on my shoulder while we waited.

I had thought wow, you know I've never seen anyone in here to put their pet to sleep. Karma took that thought and bit me on the ass with it. An old lady came in holding her cat, sobbing. I felt so horrible for her. I went and got her a bunch of toilet paper since they had no kleneex. There wasn't anything else I could do to help.

everyone else was chatty and Ginko and I didn't get to read my book. However there were two dogs in there today that

evil_little_dog would have stolen. One was a poodle/mini schnauser mix that managed to look like neither really.

evil_little_dog and

enemytosleep probably would have gotten into a death match over him (probably oiled down and in jell-o for the amusement of the rest of the flist). He was cute. He had a schnauser body but with long soft hair and a less square face. He was gunmetal grey with lighter grey legs (and was 16 and was just diagnosed with doggie alzheimers, in other words he acts like

evil_little_dog's Pewter).

The other dog was yorkie. and what I ask and got a dirty look. Lady he's as tall as the schnauser with a long solid body. Yorkie and basset hound if i had to guess with splayed fluffy feet and huge batty ears and a square face.

evil_little_dog would have snagged him. I wanted the lady's other dog that I didn't dare ask about but I'm thinking part husky. She had a husky build and thick coat but in black and beige with china eyes.

The vet loved Ginko. She took him immediately and said she'd have no trouble placing him. Are you SURE you don't want him COM? Honestly doc, you kn ow how many I've brought you. y ou know what you charge me. I can get it all done for 50-70$ at a shelter. I Do want to get Kanda a buddy but he was terrified of ginko.

Dr. Dashe thinks Kanda would do better with an older kitten or cat or she might have just wanted me to take one of her other kitties. She had them bring me a freshly spayed female. She was loving (and already a momma at age 8 months) but she was WHITE. I'll admit a prejudice. I don't like white cats mainly because I'm lazy with the housekeeping and my aunts and my brother have white cats. that hair is everywhere. I told her I would think about it. Dashe is strict about who adopts from her but she and I have worked long and hard together these last five years on so many strays I guess I've been bumped up the list to 'call this sucker she'll take it'

Ginko will get a good loving home. No more kids flinging him into walls. I told her to call me if she can't place him. In the meantime I put the cat travel case in my trunk. Obviously my heart is saying we're stopping at the cat shelter in C olumbus on monday my brain is saying oh no you're not.
