well you already know about Roy (though he took off by the time i got back from the laundromat)

I went down to help with terror town but they were closing up really early so i came home and put out MY halloween decorations...what's left of them. I really need to get some new stuff. so much is broken or just plain tatty. The thing is around here the halloween stores do NOT have a sale and shut the door the day after halloween. I don't like what walmart has.

And there was Verizon vs CoM round 1 million and one. Now the useless excuse for internet service suddenly decided it has no signal and randomly disconnects itself and won't power on. This tech looks at the notes from the other million calls and says, this has nothing to do with where you live. that device is defective. well i've been told that before, so here comes device #4 in 9 months.

Did I mention i stabbed my thumb on rusty gross dissecting scissors in lab on Thursday? Yeah, still hurts.


And for those of us with woolen winter clothes and things that should be dry cleaned, something from my green magazines which of course hate the toxic chemicals dry cleaners use (i hate their prices more), most dry clean clothes could be swirled by hand in cool water with a little woolite and spots taken out with lemon juice. just pat it dry, no twisting.

speaking of drying, my mattress cover is still doing that.I keep having my dust allergies. I've gone to hypoallergic mattress and pillows. i've washed all the bed clothes then realize, not the mattress cover. It's now in the kitchen over 4 chairs like a tent. Kanda is most distressed. He doesn't like change.

I didn't spend an hour this evening giving names to the characters who are monkey minding me to death. In my meditations. In my head all night. no no i didn't. Not changing my nano plans either...


And think on the pictures evoked by mere words. College - small, possibly rural, private, maybe community. University - big, urban, far more opportunities. Academy - oooo elite, private, this is where you want to be.

but if you try to have an academy for mages you will now be a harry potter rip off... wish I could think of something elite yet scholarly...





I found Iktomi's old Bela Lugosi costume. Kanda was most upset. he ran under the couch and got it off

I must have told you about my three day Greyhound ride from NYC to Yellowstone back in 1999? A friend told me it was an amazingly comfortable way to travel and he'd spent weeks touring the US by Greyhound. Suffice to say I was ready to kill him by the end of the trip.

Your monkey novel is doing to you what Ever Summer did to me for NaNo last year. I was all set to go with the next samurai novel, but the Ever Summer people started shouting and wouldn't shut up. They're shouting again right now, too, but too late, I've already started the new Toshi/Maru story, so nnnng! (sticks tongue out).

You might have to start raiding foreign-language dictionaries for a substitute for "academy." Or, if this is a fantasy or AU setting, you can make up your own word. Nobody will know if you steal a Welsh word for teaching or learning, for example, and mutate it to suit yourself.

i thought of conservatory. it's almost military in nature for that matter. and yes, i did just consider making up something since we'll get the idea that the adults are in the military and the teens are training in a college
