To all my friends who celebrate.

I did get to see the eclipse mostly because a herd of deer triggered the motion detectors and the saftey light woke me up. And in that 4 AM hour Soul finally forgave me and let me touch him again.

But they were horrid all night last night (but the house was otherwise quiet). They were killing each other around the bed and under it and then after lights out Kanda was getting ON the bed and diving on Soul's head. They started this up again at 4 AM and at 6 AM when the garbage dude woke me up again. Nothing like about 4 hours sleep in two hour increments.

I did manage to get gifts wrapped today but I'm just a bit overwhelmed right now.I'm not sure I'll get the holiday drabbles done. I'm sorry. I'll try.

holiday party at work

and to the dragon cave people, where do i go to ask a question. I bred two of my holiday dragons. I got eggs. but now none of them are on my scroll and all but two say they have someone else as an owner but I didn't abandon them and two have no owners. I'm totally confused

My sister and I saw the lunar eclipse last night. I couldn't sleep and looked out my window around 2:30, and realized that I forgot about it. Then I went downstairs where she was watching TV and got her to come up and watch it with me for a half hour. We were lucky to be in EST, since we got to see it completely.

We don't do much stuff together, but we both agree that neat astronomy things are cool.

The lunar eclipse was visible here at about 5:30am yesterday morning. I did not get up to watch.

Merry Solstice for yesterday, and thanks for the reminder to text Merry Solstice to friends I forgot to text yesterday. Whoops.

Poor you. This is a great time of year to be sleep-deprived and stuck with a crap mattress. At least we're not at work? Did I tell you Moro likes to sit on Helen's chest while she's asleep and periodically pat her on the nose. Why the hell aren't you up giving me attention, human? Moro never does this to me. Helen told me smugly that she'd read in a cat behavioural book that they go for the dominant person.

Is the memory foam helping you sleep better? Other than deers, cats and garbage men waking you up?

Because you can only have two holiday dragons, I think? And breeding them automatically releases the eggs. That's what I remember from last year, at least. If you breed one year's dragon to another year's dragon, and you don't have two of the same kind, you should be able to keep the egg.

hmmm but you're supposed to be able to breed them the next year and I DID have them earlier in the day. i have no idea

I didn't get to see the eclipse...sky was all sulky and gloomy. Heck I was fully prepared to go out in parka, wrap up in sleeping bag and lay on the back deck to watch it too!

Hope you had a wonderful solstice! Mine was capped by a male buddy coming by to wish me a merry solstice, gave me a big hug and a steamy kiss right in the driveway for all to see. Ornery twerp. Then Dennis came by and we went up to see the holiday lights in Harrisonville. Collapsed in bed around Midnight. Didn't make it through the entire Yule vigil though...body rebelled.

Condolences on cat activity.

I haven't gone to the Cave in a while, after my last bred baby died for no explicable reason instead of growing up. Judging by the number of dragons posted at the Daily Dragon site (down to only about 4,000; although I see some holiday dragons showing up now!), others have drifted away for a while, too.

I had that happen, once, though; I think they did get adopted (it was one of those cases where for some reason, I had "too many" and lost the one I'd been trying for).

Quiet is good! You've had far too much going on lately and needed some down time!

Just picked this up off the forums: Limits:
Remember that the 2-per-breed total is still in effect for all Christmas holiday dragons. If you are already at this limit, then any new eggs will be autoabandoned after 30 minutes.

So that's why they were there, then gone.

Hey, I only have ONE holiday egg from last year; she's bred, but never another holiday. I suppose now is the time to try...

Yep, got one from breeding my last year's, and managed to snatch a peppermint one from the abandoned area. Whee!

yes, but the last time i did this, you were only allowed two holiday dragons for any year. Yes, you could breed them.
