In Need of Beauty
Feb. 23rd, 2011 10:01 pmI'm so tired of the ugly. I'm tired of people who, if you don't agree with them react with hostility. I've been considering a friends cut. Though that really wouldn't help with the issues bringing this up right now. For that I'd need to use our roadkill freezer to hide the evidence until I can get the flesheating beetles into play.
I have been so lucky that most of my jobs have been relatively peaceful and most of us, if we don't get a long at least avoid each other. Never have I had it drag out for a year. I don't want to say more on an open forum but it's just really making me sad. I need to find my center again.
I looked at Athens to see if I could go there but all they have going on right now is a quilt show (and probably the same one I saw here in Jackson) and a vintage apron/dish towl show....see i need to go to Columbus and see the orchids or something
I also wish to understand my cats. I want to read their minds. Soul has taken to CHEWING on the ottoman like he were a dog. I yelled tonight and he went and chewed on the leg of the table instead. Mom and I wonder if he's teething or something.I've only ever had one cat who chewed stuff and he didn't eat furniture (well he ate part of the rug AND the rug tack)
Kanda was easy to corral but OMG he kept spitting the liquid. It was everywhere. I was laughing so hard. Soul was hard to catch but easy to medicate.I nearly drowned the poor baby. I squirted it in, expecting a fight, didn't get one and ended up filling his whole mouth.

there are a couple for like 40K in wellston this size. This is a nice big house. Too bad both Wellston and Centerville are becoming ghost towns. I mentioned looking at houses there and I thought my students were going to kidnap me and tie me up until the urge passed

Date: 2011-02-24 03:26 am (UTC)Hmmm...thought...did Soul start chewing on the furniture after you started giving him that medicine? Maybe he's desperately trying to get rid of the taste?
You know...I just don't get it...about people reacting with hostility if someone doesn't agree with them. I mean what the hell is wrong with them? The world certainly doesn't revolve around their oh so lofty opinions of themselves. Everyone has the right to think what they want, and to decide if they agree (or disagree) with what someone else has said. So if someone doesn't agree with you, well hello...by who's authority gives you the right to go on the attack? GEESH hon..those aren't friends you're dealing with. Those are soul suckers who are using you to their own advantage.

Date: 2011-02-24 03:31 am (UTC)Kanda sounds like Dickens! The one time I had to give him liquid medication, he'd keep his mouth open and shake so half of it wound up on me!
Soul sounds a bit like

Date: 2011-02-24 12:42 pm (UTC)I love that house! It's so pretty. Too bad it's in area that apparently no one wants to live in? ): I guess the unibomber shack is still the best bet after all XD
Yeah, my cat's never taken to chewing on things, just clawing the hell out of everything. What's gotten into Soul? 0_o

Date: 2011-02-24 01:19 pm (UTC)Medicating animals is always a ... fascinating process. I was dogsitting for a friend and had to give the dog a daily pill. "Just wrap it up in some cheese," she told me. Ha. The dog would just eat the cheese and spit out the pill. Oodles of fun.

Date: 2011-02-24 01:40 pm (UTC)Nice house. I have to give it's current owner's a bad hand gesture, however, due to the black jockey they have by the door. I hate those things - especially if they are colored black as that is an affront to African Americans.
It's sad that such nice houses are so undervalued, though. You wouldn't be able to touch that for under several hundred thousand out here.
We're having more drama at work. Yet another phlebotomist being a douche bag. This one, however, should be fired.

Date: 2011-02-24 02:42 pm (UTC)Ooh that is a beautiful house! So big! The problem with big houses (or any house for that matter) is the maintenance. That can really suck. Good thing your students are looking out for you! lol! ;P

Date: 2011-02-24 04:28 pm (UTC)it is sad and right now 1 in 4 counties are dying here (in the states in general), counties not towns. scary as hell.
My nurses are usually pretty good, a few scary ones but usually they won't make it past me
