I KNOW this is the last week. This is NOT the time to stop listening to me and starting fucking around. I have count 'em FOUR more projects of yours to grade. You annoy me, and I might decide that you ain't getting half points for your spelled wrong half assed answers. OMG, the people I've wanted to make their heads explode by using my mind...


And shoulder, bite the widest part of my ass. I reached for the hair brush today and my entire trapezius and infraspinatus muscles SPASMED. To the point I couldn't raise my arm or turn my head. Driving to therapy was fun and a waste of time. Couldn't DO anything there. They want me to see the massage therapist to work on the trigger points (You know the one thing not covered by my insurance.)

ALso WHOO HOO! It's August and that means only 6 more weeks of hell summer. Thank god. I'm so ready to see the ass end of this season

Most of you know by now I was a doctor before my injury (okay I'm STILL a doctor but you know, not practicing)I still get the emails from my medical school and wanted to share this one for you because well it needs sharing.

Expect more oversight from federal and state governments. Two reports recently issued by the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services found that the drive to connect hospitals and doctors via EHR is being "layered on systems that already have glaring privacy problems." Audits of health systems in seven large hospitals in different states found 151 security vulnerabilities, most of which were classified as "serious."


Among the serious problems were inadequate passwords, computers that did not automatically log off inactive users, and unencrypted patient data on laptops. Most hospitals had problems with wireless access (an inability to detect unauthorized intrusion), lack of firewall, and not updating computer software to defeat known bugs.

Yeah that's right, your records aren't as safe as you thought (granted most of us probably took one look at those computerized notes and figured someone was stealing them). geez.

And speaking of med school, student loans called again. This time the rude bitch hung up on me before I could get her name. THis is getting old with them.

Also I woke up this morning convinced it was saturday. I'm lucky I even made it to work...

Okay the TRULY embarrassing part here is the fact I have on unicorn earrings and necklace. Oh the girlie ridiculousness. (though keep in mind this was the beginning of the unicorn craze, well the most current craze). Also THIS is what I looked like before my body freaked out and I gained 100 pounds, lost my hair AND my skin color in less than a year. Yeah I actually looked Italian once (the crooked smile was from damage to the facial nerve in a vollyball game accident)

Quick doctor type question - my steri strips are staying on longer than any nail polish known to man. It's been two weeks now and half are still hanging in there. Should I just ignore them or what?

you can leave them there unless they're bugging you. (Mine stayed on 3 weeks and required tons of pulling to get off). Are you seeing the surgeon again?

I used to have these big sunburst earrings I called my "Jem" earrings (I had one of the dolls, too). I was a very childish 20-year-old... :D (Not that I'm any different now, I mutter, glancing at my shelf of Doctor Who action figures...)

We have a good three months of summer left down here. September means nothing in the sub-tropics. No, I take that back. September means hurricanes.

My medical records are safe. I can't afford medical care, so I have no records. Take that, privacy thieves! (Actually, since I have a photograph of the inside of my esophagus, I probably do have medical records somewhere, but I have no idea what anyone would do with the information about my inconclusive endoscopy even if they did hack in and steal it.)

Did you get yours at a head shop? I did and I felt sooooooo sophisticated, even though I was really confused by the bongs.

No, my surgeon didn't want to see me. He said he was 99.9% sure there would be no problems since he's taken thousands of these things out and didn't want to make me hand over another copay. He said he didn't need a follow up. Other than a vague pulling sensation and some itchiness, my incision is fine.

Aren't you glad it wasn't the thing to get tattoos? I'd be covered in unicorns, runes, and other embarrassing fantasy geek things!
