1. Someone on FFN contacted me to ask if she could do art for Gilded Cage (a Greedling/Winry of mine) I naturally said yes. I'm old. I come from the days of the paper zines were all stories had art. You held your breath to see who you got and if you were really lucky you'd get lordgloria or rahirah or the like (who do beautiful art). So I'm over the moon that someone wants to do art for this. Heck this is why I do fmabigbang so I can get art (I already know I can whip out long fic)

2. I still owe both help_japan stories and one helpthesouth. I haven't forgotten but i should PM some apologies for being an ass and being so slow

4. I think I might know what the killer in my new bigbang is up to. It might not be political after all b ut the media and the other side try to use it as such. the killer might just be the jack the ripper type

5. there are a few tropes on FMA fanfic I have officially become utterly sick of and wish never to see again. Sigh. (edited this for clarity)

I was lucky, I could usually ask for ex_xpat for my artist in EQ, though I never knew who I was going to get for the Doctor Who zines I was published in. Though rahirah did illo my extremely long DW fic, "Val-Con". I'm not sure if I still have the copies of the art of that or not, but I loved them.

Ooh, that is so cool. I have a few scenes in my head from my fics that I have always wished I could get someone to illustrate for me, but no one has ever offered, and I've never known anyone I felt comfortable to ask, or had money to commission anyone. That's really wonderful. Congratulations.

Just out of curiosity, what are some of the FMA tropes you are sick of? Just wondering...

Hehe, I was pretty excited when Suzume did art for my fmabigbang fic Down the Road. Her stuff is so adorable. I hope she'll be my artist for my next Big Bang fic as I convinced her to do computer art this time. Also, my beta did art for my fma_slashfest fic (because she was sorry for taking a long time on the beta, haha) and I love it.

Ack, I still owe evil_little_dog's help japan fic. I thought up some scenes but not a plot yet. Maybe I'll just write out those scenes when I get the chance and then connect them (I'm basically doing that with my next Big Bang).

That was one of the local zines to your area. I don't remember if S.L. said she had your originals or not; I just know I wound up with copies and they were huge, and I was so very, very excited by your version of my O.C.

Suzume does do cute stuff. I had some really nice art for mine too (bob_fish did it two years ago). Yes I saw the art but haven't had time to read the story yet

I can't imagine what kind of illos I would want for my original work, but I would adore seeing either Toshiro and Maru or Frank Dollar--or both--portrayed by real-life actors on _Mystery!_. That's been my secret ambition ever since I started writing mysteries.

Yeah, there are definitely aspects of FMA:B, in particular, that are starting to wear on me.

Yeah, fanfic definitely tends to run a few pet obsessions into the ground. At least the show departs somewhat from the "They battle, the hero prevails--but wait! The villain has another power level! The hero is down! But wait! The hero has a hidden superpower!" ad nauseum fight cliche that haunts most action/adventure manga and anime.

I love getting art for stories, it's thrilling! I like illustrating stories too, I get to do narrative art without the hard graft of a comic. Doing Big Bang art (and fic) again this year.

I'm overcommitted too on fanstuff. My house is full of boxes (move day is Friday) and I have classes to plan too! ;_;

Okay, I'll bite on the tropes thing - PM? There are some recurring tropes out there that work my nerves, but I can see why you're tentative about making public comment - I don't like to stir the pot too much either.

I still owe YOU a Help Japan Fic. Sorry. Busy summer. Culminating in a wedding out of town, and a visit from a friend I haven't seen in several years three days later. Whew. AND my daughter moving OUT and my new Housemate moving in at the end of the month. After that I should be less stressed and have more time to work. It's half finished. I really expected to pick it up the next day and finish it. It's not like it needs a lot.. other than time.. and brain, you know?
