Yet another short to the point Writerly Ways, mostly because of writing finals (and writing a 100 writing related things over at

jana_denardo). I wanted to share first this brand new publisher for romance, het and gay. It looks to be an ebook format for the most part. They do have open calls, including one for steampunk though I’m not sure if it’s open to just anything or het only (it’s not marked gay only). Bottom Drawer Publishing.

Also Writer’s Digest is hosting a free how to blog your book webinar. Apparently they’re not too interested in giving stuff away for free given its curious timing at 1 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. I think I’ll sign up.

Speaking of which, I AM very interested in helping out my friends. If you have a book you’re looking to promo let me know. I can a). have you guest blog/author interview at Jana’s lj, b). promote it on twitter for you c). drop a note to my author’s list. It’s not much but it’s something.

What I want in return is for some of you to be standing there with cattle prods to zap the hell out of me. I was serious about getting Machiavelli Moon edited. I NEED to do this. I would love to be able to start seeking publication for this again and it would be stellar to do so to coincide with my trip to Wales (but that’s too much to ask for). It really would be lovely to have cover art for it to show the group at any rate. Sigh. Blows to be poor.

I didn’t send in my Scarred Soldier story (look to Jana’s blog later tonight for more reasons why), in part because at the end of the day, the story wasn’t ready (I feel very very bad about this) and because when I rethought about it, there was a strange creepy feel to it (then again several open calls I’ve seen lately have made me feel that way). It’s already novella length. I will work it out but again, cattle prods people. If you see me posting up no progress reports, zap me.

I guess what I’m saying is my locus is external. I need input from someone or something (deadlines) to keep me going. Zap zap, move it, idiot.

Yes I still owe people chapters. I need to FIND the post where people volunteered because right now, I can only remember
