Rukia gets on my nerves at time - the one that really makes me nuts is Orihime - I could cheerfully strangle her. Kubo has made Rukia much stronger in the past year or so, she's no longer the "oh, please come rescue me" perpetual damsel in distress. I find most of the time I actually prefer the anime to the manga with Bleach (which is rare - usually it's the other way around) but there is so much fighting in it, and I just don't like the way TK draws fights - it's just confusing and ends up being B/W white noise to me. I find the characters in the Seireitei, the Captains and others, to be what makes Bleach worth dealing with its shortcomings, and some of the other peripherals like the Vizards and some of the Espadas, and Urahara. I also like Uryuu and Chad. Truthfully, Ichigo is one of the lesser draws to Bleach for me - and I get a little tired of the constant ramping up of his power - but so little of his character development otherwise. That's one thing where Arakawa has it all over Kubo, contrasting Ed's progress to Ichigo's - Ed's was much more multi-dimensional.
I'll have to check out the Kuroshitsuji manga - I really like the first season, but so far the second season seems a little less impressive. Maybe it's better in the manga.....
