I moved my entire LJ and comments over to Wordpress in order to start a writer's blog for my upcoming website. I didn't feel comfortable linking the website to my personal LJ.
I chose it over Blogger because it allowed transfers from Livejournal, Blogger didn't seem to, at least not easily. Of course, I then had to go through and delete all the personal entries I didn't want part of the writer's blog, but I'm just way OCD.
Now I cross post manually from LJ to Wordpress when I do an entry I think would be interesting for a writer's blog.
Only part of Wordpress I don't like so far is the built-in visitor's stats don't tell you much. Otherwise, jeez, you could build an entire author platform website out of that place if you worked at it.
