Not even if you put (ret.) after it? Wow, that's sort of petty. They let military officers keep their titles (with the 'ret.') and they let you keep calling yourself a PhD even if you retire. There ought to be some middle ground. I mean, you earned your degree just as much as someone who's still practicing. *shakes head*
