Kanda update
Jan. 17th, 2013 10:33 pmbut before I get into how my foolish feline is doing, here's a HUGE thank you to
zippitgood for weighed in on my vampire novel. I truly appreciate your hard work on that. Thank you. Good to know it's not my imagination about where it goes off the rails. Now to figure out what to do about that.
Kanda is not adjusting as well as I would have hoped to being back home. Other than a day or two after Soul was first gone, he's never really seemed to miss him. BUT. We went to PA within a week of that more or less and for three weeks he had a big house and three people with him all the time. I'm not so sure he misses Soul but he definitely is not tremendously happy to be back in a boring apartment with nothing to do and is most unhappy that I'm gone so much. He is very demanding and talkative (which he never was before). I'm not sure, however, another animal is the solution. The only time I had more than one pet was when I had Kanda/Soul/Roy. Roy is gone. Soul is gone and I'm not sure that Kanda would like another companion or if he would like a bigger place or more importantly for me to quit my job and sit with him all day. I think status quo is how we're going for right now.
Just a week into classes and I'm cautiously optimistic about them. I have several new students very quick to answer questions and answer them correctly.
Speaking of being optimistic, read this. It's a story for those who only see the bad in life. It's about a dying young boy who wanted to break a record for getting the most Christmas cards. Half a million people reached out to him. Oddly in spite of it going viral, I never saw it. I wish I had. Little things like this are life affirming (ironically as the boy just passed).
As for me, I'm just happy to have a friends list like this. You guys help so much.
As for day 4 of operation declutter. 2 more of those beer bottles gone for the same reason (got the label off, bottles in the recycler).
Speaking of beer, here's another BOOZE report.
Kaiser Pils by Penn Brewery. As much as I loved Penn Brewery's Penn Dark, that's how much I disliked this beer. It was split between me and my parents and even then we could barely finish it. Bad, bitter stuff. disappointing.
Big Moose Beer by Sarnac. My brother got me beers with the name Moose on them (injoke). I've had stuff by Sarnac before, nothing I've been thrilled about. This was just plain awful.
End of the World Wheat by Shock Top, probably a very limited run for 2012. It wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either.
Hefenweizen UFO by Harpoon Brewery. It's an unfiltered wheat beer so it's cloudy. It was also slightly sweet and very tasty.
