A big day on campus
Apr. 30th, 2013 10:43 pmSeriously big. Too big. Besides all the teaching, today was also an awards banquet for outstanding research who just so happens to be one of the biologists so I needed to go to that. He's rather a private person so no one even knew all he was doing (he's one of the wildlife/fish conservationists). I'm impressed. I was also impressed b y the spread, mini Greek pizzas, an artichoke/parmesan dip to die for, gator cakes!! (YUM, I love gator), some kind of baked apple wrapped in bacon, beef tenderloin and a chocolate fountain with big strawberries. I don't know where the food came from but kudos to them!
Also tonight was the grand chorale (missed them) and the senior art show. I did get there an hour after it started. Someone did an Homage to Magritte I coveted and another student had crossed something that looked like a nazgul and the Gollum. I wanted that. I would have put him in my office. He was life sized.
I did wander upstairs to the permanent exhibit because you rarely see it due to security reasons. We have a few Goyas, a Renoir & a Jasper Johns. It's nice to go and contemplate them.
And now I have a test to finish so I better get my butt in gear.
