Kanda the Drama Queen
Jul. 6th, 2013 11:05 pmSo I packed up everything (mostly yesterday) and drove home today but of course that means catching Kanda. Once he's IN the car he's fine (oh he whines for about five minutes then gives in to the fact this is happening) but getting him into the box is a chore. For one, he reads minds and knows. How else can you explain doing everything like you usually do and the cat suddenly can't be found. I shut the bedroom doors so he couldn't hide there but as I started to the basement to get them, he ran for it. First he was under the gameroom table, then into the basement under the sewing bench, then under a foot stool, the under the treadmill then under the game closet and I finally got hold of his belly fur as he raced past the fridge and tossed him into the box. You would think poisonous gas was going to come out of the box the way he carried on as Dad hauled him to the car.
I had lots of story ideas on the drive. Yay. Including one for a long-abandoned story. I'm very happy about that. I need to be doing more to finish and edit things, plain and simple.
And then I got home, saw I have a few new neighbors then opened the door and got depressed. Really I shoud have come home a week or two ago and if I had known my aunt was going to move the lake party til today when I couldn't go I would have. This place is SUCH a mess. I have no idea where to even begin, let alone bring any more into this place. If I DON'T buy a house, then I really need to find a way to get rid of about half of my belongings. And that still wouldn't make room for the comic book collection.
I can (and have started) parring down some collections. Like when I was home and Mom has the best of my Native American collection in my old bedroom and then I found more in grandma's basement and here too. It's time to rehome the junkier stuff and keep the best. And then there are collections of things I have that I never set out to collect but friends think I do, like buffalos and cats. And for much of the 90's friends added to the collections and I never had the heart to rehome it but thankfully now we're mostly giving food/drink/giftcards and/or picking off wish lists so there is less of getting stuff I don't need (and now in my 40s there's precious little I do need) Not that I mind a creative gift. (I think the hardest gift is the one you can tell the giver is SO excited about, so sure it's wonderful and you're there going WTF is this)
So this place is a wreck. Mom wants to come and look at houses. She can not come here like this. No one can. Forget a minute the residual smells of Soul's piss, you can't move in here. I have a LOT of work to do. I have no idea how I can accomplish this in just a week or two. sigh.
I'll be restarting the declutter meme post haste.
on a different note Woodchuck's pear cider is good
ETA - New dragon eggs. I filled up. I can rehome some of these so if you didn't get one and need one, I'll see what I can do.

Date: 2013-07-07 03:39 am (UTC)I know the feeling about needing to get rid of stuff. I can see three things right now that could go.
Vinnie just freaks in a vehicle in general.

Date: 2013-07-07 03:55 pm (UTC)On long trips, poor Vinnie remains pretty wound up for at least an hour or so. I ought to get him doggy downers or something so he'd just sleep, like the girls do.
