The Universe takes a good bounce
Jul. 23rd, 2013 10:46 pmI sold my steampunk story!! For more info check out my writing journal here Also there is the fact that Leonard Nimoy friended me on Twitter and I'm all geeky about it. I feel like Sheldon when Stephen Hawking friended him and if I get that obnoxious about it, reach thru my screen and slap me.
And speaking of the steampunk story. They want it to be a novella so I need add a few thousand words. It's a mystery and I KNOW that part was rushed to be a short story. I don't want to go full novel on this (that isn't the deal) but I was wondering if anyone wanted to read over a steampunk mystery set in 1880's Hyde Park NY (understanding this is m/m erotica). I'm looking not so much for things to remove (unless it's really bad) but rather where to expand this. If you're interested, let me know and I can work out a deal in exchange. Thanks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
sillymagpie I hope it was a great day!!
And check out the wonderful Alphonse/Ling story

I posted this thought on FB, but I thought I'd share it here too. I was thinking this morning on the way to work that the last time I visited Grandma in senior living, that they were playing music from her youth and I realized that when I'm old and in a home, they'll be playing 80's hair bands and that made me smile. Bad Medicine will take on new meaning.
And I had a student today thank me so much for helping them. When they were talking to me I noticed tell tale signs of a potential learning disability (and the grades show it) Not only was she thrilled that I sent her for help but our new coordinator for that was a) surprised no one has ever caught this before because this is a student well into their twenties (and we need a singular gender-neutral pronoun) and b) was giving me accolades all over for helping the student (and the student used that term right). Sometimes I DO make a difference. The student was contemplating giving up college.
restore your faith in humanity I loved this post so much and this one too (thank you Wil Wheaton) geek girls

Date: 2013-07-24 03:31 am (UTC)I think I started reading this one -- I'd love to see the "finished" thing.
I'd noticed that already with the music - when we were in Vegas, everyplace had 80's music going full blast, and I thought, "Ah, that's the demographic. They're aiming at ME now!"
I've had a few celebrities follow me on Twitter -- Paula Poundstone and Dean Miller (both BEFORE I followed them!); and Yoko Ono followed me back. It always makes one feel like Someone. (And Rosanne Cash answers tweets.)
