I'm debating that Klondike Days festival (Nothing like wandering the frozen tundra and watching lumberjack contests, right?).

I'm REALLY disappointed that I couldn't do the charity plunge in Lake Antigo this year. I love raising money for charity but I don't know enough people up here to raise the necessary 500$. It's not like I could hit up the students. Oh I suppose I could have sold advertising space on my ample body to local companies. The plunge? You pick the ice off the lake and jump in for charity. It's 12 below today. No, I never promised anyone I was sane.

For the techie friends on the list, I have a question. Given the strangeness of the computer this week I was thinking ghosts in the machine but practically ran a viral scan. It didn't hit on anything as a virus but in the detailed report it listed everything as okay except for the below listed files. It listed them as CHANGED. Any thoughts, suggestions, concerns?

system32\kernal32.dll
system32\use32.dll
system32\shell.dll
system32\Notskrnl.exe

thanks.

Reading two books at once now. The straub book which I think I'll just abandoned because it's become SO ludicrous (which I can't really say much about since it'll be spoilery. I'll write up a review with spoilers later) and Fairstein's newest one which is a page turner. And for all those fans turning up their nose at any original character they think might even be remotely related to the author in any way shape or form, I think on the mystery genre where the hottest thing is what we'd consider Mary Sue's and act so superior towards (now i'm not talking the true Mary Sue who's utterly perfect, I'm talking a reasonable character who might resemble XYZ) Fairstein, Reichs and more who were professionals in the fields their characters are pro's in. Mary Sueism can be profitable in the Mystery world.

And I thought I was crazy!

When I run virus scans those things usually turn up as CHANGED too, I don't think it's anything to worry about. I think it has more to do with updates etc. At least I think so.

Yeah I'm pretty nuts

I was hoping it was just normal stuff on the viral scan but I thought I'd ask giving how weird the computer was this week
