Looking up curses

Yeah yeah, I know you're not supposed to curse people but I'm thinking these guys deserve it. Remember my other student loans, the ones from Florida that got defered. Someone put them into collection by mistake and now I'm getting harrassed by a collection agency. Someone ought to tell them sending two letters a day every day (I haven't been to the post office all week and didn't know) with corresponding postal stamps makes it that much easier on my lawyer when I decide to file suit.

Will call these idiots tomorrow and say look I'm in deferment so YOU call the collection agency and get this straightened out before the lawyer starts calling you.

I don't know much about voodoo, but I'm sure I could come up with the ugly little dolls. You think if I make labels like "Dana's Student Loan person" or "Idiot Collections Agent bothering Dana" and stick them on the dolls, the voodoo gods would understand what I was getting at and punish the appropriate people? :D

If the harrasment keeps up, I will. That last time this happened with a DIFFERENT loan that was also in deferment, I threatened lawyer, they fixed it immediately.

As someone who does collections for a living, there is something called "The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" that these morons must follow. They can get in a lot of trouble if they don't follow the laws set forth. I'm sure your attorney is familiar with this.

Ah thank you (and this of course isn't directed any anyone in particular, I've been in collection before for other things like a doctor's bill that wasn't mine but at least they were reasonable). These guys sent EIGHT letters in one day and I'm in a class action suit brought against another agency for that Fair Debt Act for their harrassment. They were even calling my dead grandmother repeatedly even after my uncle who lives in his mom's house told them she was dead.

That's just wrong and they know it. I think some of these agencies think they are above the law and can harrass you regardless. I work for a law firm and the guys are always spazzing about following the FDCPA to a "T" so we don't get sued. But we also just send out one letter a month and we don't ever call the people unless its a return phone call to that person.

I hate that you're having to go through this mess, but I know in the end it will all work out for you! Good luck!
