But before that let me say Dad is fine. He was home from his surgery by noon. I'm betting tomorrow will suck for him pain-wise though.
I truly do believe that the 1993 class of OCPM was cursed. Last year I wore one of the two pieces of jewelry from then that meant anything to me. I put my caduceus on my robes, the first time it had been out of the jewelry box in a decade or more. It fell off and I lost it. I cried and cried. I got it for my graduation from medical school. Today I wore the other piece, a one-time promise ring to a lover, a connemara claddagh ring again for the first time. It fell off my finger somewhere between Kroger's and the library. I looked and looked for it but I didn't find it. I'm heart broken over losing that ring.
Granted two lost pieces of jewelry does not a curse make but consider this: several students are dead already (we're only in our 40s). One of my good friends from then is in the hospital again, since graduation she has lost both legs and her career. Another friend was in such a severe car wreck she can barely walk and is in danger of brain herniation that they meshed back together (also lost her career). I was kicked by a patient and suffered nerve damage and lost my career. Another friend had only two children, both with birth defects, one so severe only 1000 people in the world have it. And the list goes on. It's a little creepy if you ask me.
And of course I did NOT forget. HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY!

Have some Chieftains and Corrs for a themed Music Monday.
This made me laugh
So this asshole is dying I think some of the groups saying we won't stoop to his level by picketing his funeral is a good thing but on the other hand his son has some huge balls for asking people not to do it. Not so nice when the shoe is on the other foot.
I want my ring and caduceus back

Wow! That is weird/creepy! Hopefully someone finds your jewelry & turns it in to lost & found, so you can get it back. *hug*

Date: 2014-03-18 03:20 am (UTC)Good luck! I hope you find it. I've lost jewelry & it sucks, but even more so when it's a favorite piece or one that has a special meaning.

Yeah, he has no right to ask that. You reap what you sow.

Date: 2014-03-18 04:08 pm (UTC)Exactly. Granted, I prefer they didn't picket and just let him slip away into infamy and we never hear from them again but to ask that...

I hope you're able to find the ring. Sometimes there ARE good people out there.
As for Phelps? He will reap what he sowed. I DO think that people will NOT picket his funeral. I HOPE that news outlets just let that whole "Church" die off with a whimper.
Even better? The peaceful protest groups PROTECTING him/his family's worthless jerk selves.
Your med school class sounds a bit cursed. We did have: One murder resulting in "Jenna's Law", a beheading on a snow mobile, a freak heart condition and quite a few other things with the HS class of 1993.

Yep that's my hope, let's just ignore them and let them die out.
Hmmm wow. You know maybe it's 1993 that cursed.
