I have to go get dye injected into me and have that MRI. That dye hurt last time. Not looking forward to it but I need my answers so here we go.

It got warm today. Tried to open the windows. It also got windy so not a good idea.

Here's a pic for throwback thursday.

Trust me when I say I DID NOT see anything as cute as Ichabod in that cemetery (though I did go to his restaurant afterwards). I was so surprised I liked that show as much as I did. Speaking of surprised, I like Almost Human too which means it's likely to be canceled.

Even more shocking, I'm learning I didn't just miss one or two of the last season of Amy and Rory, I missed almost ALL of them. head desk. At least i'm seeing bits now.

new listing Want to guess what the new and practically normal subtitle on this house means? How small is it? They tell me it's small but HOW small. Also a toilet next to the washer/dryer is a thing here. I see it everywhere. No, I don't know why. But you know what Yahoo can beam me all the Ooooo it's great to live in a small house articles they want (ditto certain friends) but I've DONE that. I lived in a 13X14 apt when I worked at the mental hospital. By the end of the year I was ready for the mental hospital. There was no allure or I'm doing my thing for the environment feel. It was claustrophobic and prison like.

And in the random kindness files there's this old woman and and this young athlete (even though his ends in sorrow).

Ugh, I've had the contrast too. It felt weird to me as well. I hope everything goes well for you!

Also I love love love Sleepy Hallow and Almost Human. I am huge Karl Urban fan. Unfortunately since FOX did the same thing to Almost Human that they did to Firefly by showing it out of order it will most likely be cancelled.

The exterior of the house is cute, but could any of the interior shots be less blurry? And what's up with the 3 BRs? Where were they?

Mom would LOVE to have the washer/dryer moved to the bathroom. She's trying to get that done, actually.

Good luck with the MRI.

I personally love living in a smaller place, but I know it's not for everyone. I currently live in a 500 sq ft efficiency apartment. I have learned that when I live in a bigger place, then I just fill it up with more junk.

thanks.

It's definitely not for everyone. Even cats I've owned have had bad behaviors when I move them to smaller spaces. Granted I do junk up a larger space but I didn't junk it up any less living small

it is cute and no they couldn't be blurrier

no clue

and grandma has hers done that way too. The dryer is in the bathroom, washer in the kitchen

thank you. Yeah the contrast is very helpful diagnostically but uncomfortable.

I'm liking Karl too. OMG is that why I was lost? Really FOX? Yes it is close to being on the chopping block, I already know that

Mom would like to do away with the bath, or get one of those sit-down bath/shower things, and get stackable washer/dryer set.

the former is very expensive and detracts from the home's value. The second would be better.

another option (the one I'm looking at) the machine that is washer and dryer in one

The bath would have to go one way or another to put in any washer/dryer combo. There's not enough room otherwise, unless one of those tiny tubs from a camper/motor home would go in there.

Agreed!

Yeah they did. FOX loves screwing good shows over.

Ah, okay. true that is a tiny bathroom. I'm not entirely sure it's feasible.

Oh, it's feasible. Dad was going to do it before he got so sick.

but would a shower take up any less space?

Well, Barb and I want a BIGGER house, so you're not alone. I read those articles myself with a "Gee, I wish I could do that," but I know myself too damned well. I like THINGS too much.

(I'm a Westerner. Space is one thing we do REALLY well. McMansion, that's for me.)

yeah see that's it. I have so many books and cds. I would literally have to give away everything that makes me HAPPY to move into something that small. Nope, it's not attachment issues, it's mental survival.

I'm confused. How to they consider a house with three bedrooms to be small? It's like they're implying that it's a tiny house, but it's nothing like a tiny house. I think that's not so much a toilet in the laundry room, as laundry hookups in a bathroom. Looking at the pictures, it doesn't look like it's very efficiently laid out.

Date: 2014-04-12 02:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
it's an A frame style and around here that usually means 750-850 sq ft which is smaller than my apt. It could be either. We have tons of houses with toilets in laundry rooms and vice versa.

No it's not efficent. A frames never are. They're a lot of wasted space.

Date: 2014-04-13 12:33 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com
Definitely. A shower would take up half of the tub space, leaving enough room for a stackable washer/dryer.

yes but those very little showers are also very difficult to get in and out of (which mom predicted but dad said you're nuts. guess where he showers? not that tiny shower)

My cousins have one in that Victorian house (downstairs, upstairs, there's a bath, I think), and it only has about an inch-high lip to keep water in.

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
that's not what I meant. You can get a zero grade with no lip. Once you're inside, you bash your elbows trying to wash

Eee... My house was 825 square feet, so I guess your apartment is bigger than my house was. I wouldn't call that tiny at all. I agree about A frames. As cabins they visually cut a cool profile, but if the space is not planned well, they are not efficient.

This is a fairly sizable apartment but with inadequate storage for anything.

Agreed about A frames
