Good news for a change.

sonjajade! Hope it was a great day.
Okay went to the surgeon today and the new PT my brother gave me worked. He's thrilled with the progress on my shoulder. No shots, no extra PT needed. Just keep doing what I'm doing. He said I have a lot of power through the repair. I AM however in pain over the biceps and I told him shush. I had to have the other biceps moved and I didn't want this one getting ideas. We talked a bit about my hip. He gave me some tips and then I said I'd probably be seeing his partners this summer if the local ortho wants to operate. We laughed because what can you do, right?
Went to see grandma. She's doing worse, sleeping mostly but not before telling mom off for not coming ( flu be damned). Said she loved me. Must be delusional or seeing heaven's gate. She's never said she's loved anyone...ever and this is the second time she told me that. She also said that she's glad my boys are doing good. We don't know who she means. It's not kids, she knows that. We assume my students but she seems to think I have a group of young men living with me. I should be so lucky.
Mom and I went to the casino. We ate at the Carvery buffet which gave us 5 dollars off for their 'snow days' promotion (if it's sucking outside, they give the idiots who don't know enough to stay home money off food). I'm not much of a buffet person but this one is good. I always feel I need to eat my money's worth and I'm still stuffed five hours later. But dammit it has a mini-donut bar AND bread pudding. Also palm and artichoke hearts on the salads. And pickled eggs (I can't resist pickled eggs and kosher dills. I could eat my weight in them and I tried). Money wise we broke even.
However, I HAD to play this new slot (even though it was an expensive one. I played it at the lower level). I've been calling my fake Viking Berserkers Thunder warriors or Bolts of Lightning in their story and they had a Viking themed slot called Thunder Warrior. I hit the bonus right off. Kiril won me 10$. Go Kiril.
Also I wanted to ask a favor of everyone. I've signed up for the Pay it Forward challenge on FB both as me and as Jana. I've been wanting to do this for a while, to create a self-published short story/novella and send the royalties (in part or in full, I need to look into the self-publishing costs) to the Wounded Warrior Project.
I would be doing this as Jana since she does have name recognition so it would be gay fiction (not necessarily romance or erotica but no saying it won't be.) I would have liked to do it with Aaron and Rhys BUT DSP does have rights to them and while they might help me set it up for this, it might be easier to do something else.
What do you think? Should I try a shorter work for them and hope DSP take it? Or should I come up with something new? I thought about continuing my m/m/m freebie from last year (the werewolf was a soldier) though m/m/m sells less well. Or maybe something entirely new. Is there anything you'd like to see me try?
There is sad news. I LOST my new ivy ring. It fell off somewhere between the car and the casino. I'm hoping it's in the car. Mom is not impressed with my skills at idiocy.
And lastly the snowflake challenge here. It's a love meme and those are so hard for me to do but there it is if anyone wants to go give me some love.

I'd say try to do a new short story for Aaron and Rhys and see if DSP will take it. Otherwise, maybe just take the character who's a soldier from that threesome fic and write him prior to the story you published. That might take away the m/m/m issue entirely.

I'm trying to decide really. In some ways I don't want to short shrift Aaron/Rhys (DSP no longer does short stories and I don'treally want to follow up a novel with a novella). THe freebie one might be the best. No one said it had to be erotica. I don't know. Maybe it's a daft idea

Date: 2015-01-11 02:49 am (UTC)It doesn't have to be something established but since I have sold another novel (not sure if you saw that) and will have those edits plus trying to finish the vampire one I thought an established universe would be easier on my brain (and if it's the m/m/m one here in Athens my friends here can help suggest stuff)
