Tuesday pretends to be Monday

It started with me going to the car. Some how my entirely flat shoe got stuck on nothing visible on the porch and pulled off just as I stepped off the porch. I'm lucky I managed to stop myself before kissing concrete but everything got pulled and sore. Then I forgot my flash drive in a computer and had to wait hours for the room to empty to go get it. Also tossed out the two dead (sob) bonsais today and snagged my shirt on one of them. Sigh.

I did plant a half dozen red maple seeds. Let's see if I can germinate them.

Got the graphic novel I won from Goodreads. Yay.

Worked a bit on Vampires in Vegas and realized I had lost a tiny piece. Sigh. That's the problem with nano. You're writing all over.

Finally got all of Christmas jammed back into the storage unit.

Okay I think this would have been more powerful the other way around but whatever. I didn't use the character. I just wrote up a quickie character sheet for her.

NAME: Jeanne Barry

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTON:
WEIGHT: 125 lbs
SKINTONE: fair, highly wrinkled as if she tanned too much or smoked too much when she was young. Has age spots on her hands
BUILD: thin, joints are almost knobby, obviously arthritic
MARKS/SCARS: age spots, wrinkles
NOTABLE FEATURES: very blue eyes, usually has reading glasses lost on the top of her head.
EYES – blue, large
HAIR – blond, wavy to the shoulders, dyed blond, probably white/gray by now.
ACCENT: Appalachian accent.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:

PERSONALITY/HISTORY – Jeanne is very giving and hard working. She is laid back but getting more snappish and snippy in her old age. She grew up working hard for her mother, becoming something of a house frau and had a habit of letting people push her around. As she got older, she lets that happen less. She is very generous and likes helping people. She loves to read and travel.

Thanks. Jeanne is basically Mom stuffed into my school nemesis's body (though I owe her for taking over my class on Friday but she's like HOW do you do that class so early).

If I had known 30 years ago what the roots of a red maple would be like, not sure I would have planted it. The tree is huge and gorgeous, but the roots have taken over the yard and all the pipes...
