Tomorrow I'm trucking into Pittsburgh to meet another author in dreamspinner's stable.I'm a little nervous about that but eh, what the hell,right?

My knee is a delightful shade of purple.

evil_little_dog & wildrider would have been jealous of my morning. I spent it flipping back and forth between The X-Files & The Monkees. I still don't like the latter. Sorry, ladies. Don't hate me.

hahahaha this is true. To be fair, I DO like their music. I have never been a fan of silly skits though. I have a strange sense of humor or something. It runs more to things like Frazier and The Big Bang Theory than silly.

Ouch! I know that hurts cuz my left knee cap likes to pop out of alignment every so often. Luckily it manages to fix itself, but the bone on bone can be very PAINFUL> I feel for you. *huggles*

Silly, yes, but skits? Skits are SNL, Mad TV, Amazon Women on the Moon. The Monkees was a regular sitcom. Silly, yes, but still had a story.

They never did a "story arc" or anything, but each episode was a fully contained storyline (much like every show in the 1960s) -- and like cartoons, everything wrapped up in the end. But all 58 episodes had a story (58 separate and intact stories).

It almost sounds like you were watching CLIPS, not episodes.

Hmm well part of the probably was me flipping over to the Xfiles and just watching Monkees on commercials so I was probably just catching bits of it. Like I saw them trying to pretend to be kids/old man/ statician to convince a tv station to keep them on and the next time they were trying to get a gig via a magazine ad or something

I really like that cover.
I loved the Monkees show as a kid, but it's very dated and forced now to me. A Hard Day's Night, otoh, is still a thing of beauty.

I do think I watched it a little as a kid but mom said not much. I believe that. I do not have the fuzzy feelings about it as a lot of my friends do.
