Today I was disappointed and disappointed others

I forgot I had an apt with the damn 401K person and I made someone switch with me to get it. Unforgivable. I feel like an idiot. I will issue apologies tomorrow. I was distracted by the secretary trying to sell me on moving offices (no) and I remembered when I was talking to mom at 8 tonight. god.

I did get an appt next tuesday to have my knee looked at but no one around here will see me for my stomach. I might have to go to Columbus or Huntington. Sigh. So disappointing.

I disappointed a student too, one of my best who did an amazing summer internship but I had to confirm that research PhDs are getting tough in this age and told her to go look at the job markets. You NEED to do that before you decide.

I got an email at work saying my tea from Adagio had been delivered. I was SO excited. I tore into it the moment I got home and...it's NOT MY order. It's a shit ton (i.e. way more expensive than MY order) of herbals and crap. I sent an email to see what happens now.

What wasn't disappointing was a coworker's sabbatical presentation. We're friendly. He's an artist and was selected to do the McDowell Institute's artist in residence. I thought the art show he did as his sabbatical presentation was great. Wish I could afford a piece.

I got talked into going to the Welsh festival saturday (which I have to convince myself is NOT tomorrow). I wanted to go then saw it was a) more like a seminar and NOT a festival and b) costs like a damn seminar so thought no. However L. wants me to go. If it wasn't for the fact that three of the scientists from the University of Aberystwyth are going to be there I'd still say no but i want to build contacts so...sigh. I could have gone somewhere this weekend more exciting than this.

My allergies make it feel like Kanda is crushing my chest and I'm so itchy I could cheese grater my face to make the itchy stop. It feels like there's ants on me.

God knows why they changed that date but if I change it they'll cancel it. I think it's because it 'could take a week' to go live so they pushed it. In spite of it being live 5 minutes after I submitted it. jackasses.

and I'm allergic to either rose hips or chamomile and I'm not sure which (I suspect the rose hips burn my stomach with the vitamin C and it's the chamomile I'm allergic to) so I can't even drink most herbals
