The good things about today
Sep. 30th, 2015 10:54 pmSince work was a clusterfuck. Okay not for ME but for the department (I won't be shocked if we have two job openings soon), and I had to spend an hour talking L off the ledge before she throttled them (granted well deserved throttling). So let's talk about the good things.
I managed to get on the floor and do my exercises, better today but man my back is really in pain. I can feel my heart beat in my lumbar spine. I'm pretty sure that ain't right. Kanda felt that I rolled out the yoga mat for him. I assured him he could do his downward dog anywhere. I am going to make an appt for my back.
I got my Simmer story sent out since tomorrow was the hard deadline. It's out there. Part of me wants it to be accepted because it had my grandmothers' recipes in it and I want to share them. On the other hand, I think the novella version is stronger so if it gets rejected, I'm not going to cry. I'll just pad it up a tiny bit and send it back out there.
I won another book off Goodreads so huzzah and I sent out the two books I had given away for Soldiers of the Sun. And speaking of which, thanks again to ELD and Kira because since your reviews I've made about a half dozen sales in just two days of various stories. This is why I get so anxious over reviews. There's a correlation between reviews and sales, like it or not.
This made me laugh. Man uses raccoon to start car It's not actually true but my friend who shared it said 'if this happened in Florida instead of Detroit, we wouldn't even question if it was real.' So true. So very true. Even the commentors agree.
And then there's this. 23 reasons why Princess Bride is important
Also I got back in contact with an old friend on FB and that made me smile.
And I'm working on a <1000 word story set in that clown hotel with the big old cemetery out back. No sex. Anyone want to see it?
And my friend, Flippy, antiqued my steampunk picture for me. Looks great.
